That is anything but the right answer. Just because a language based creation like a 'contraction' exists. Does not explain why you are intolerant to another 'form' of abbreviating. The truth is sir, you have a pet peeve that is hypocritcal in the english language.

Let me make this simple for you:

There are solid rules to the English language, as well as bendable ones. One of the solid rules is that "U R" is NOT proper english. It's used out of laziness, because the letters "U" and "R" sound like "You" and "Are". This is SLANG. Slang is NOT proper english.

Please get your info straight before argueing

i find stupid ass abbreviations stupid as hell. It makes them sound like a 10 year old, and I ESPECIALLY hate it when they think they sound cooler because of that.

I try to let girls a bit more slack on this though.

btw: can't is an english contraction following the rules of contractions

"U R" is neither an abbreviation (you starts with a Y and are with A) nor a contraction without the apostrophe and being two separate characters as well. I am intolerent to this stupid form of abbreviating because it is not part of the english language. If you want to speak a bit of "english", speak it. If you want to speak "stupid", go kill yourself.

Do you honestly think im blind to that fact FakeSteve)307. Maybe you misunderstood. Everyone that speaks a fair bit of English has used a contraction. What im saying is, almost everytime a contraction is used, it is out of a learned form of laziness. Making it... dare i say it, exactly the same as me using "u r". I never said "u r" was proper english, not to mention BroOd is allowed to have any pet peeve he wants so i wont go there. But its hypocritcal in this instance. So i pointed it out.

The thing being discussed was that things such as "U R" are just other forms of contractions. They are not.

How on earth is it hypocritical? People should just be able to bend the rules of english every time they feel lazy, until it's just a bunch of incomprehensible smatterings of letters and numbers? It's obvious you're not grasping the basic principles here, so don't worry about it.

i agree... does that help you. U R isnt proper english. This topic was about lazy writing, not superior english usage. So far though, one thing was proven to me, you guys are overly angered by internet slangs. Which by the way, is common language... and no where nearly as awful as you make it out to be. Further more, i bet everyone that has spoken out about hating online slangs has used LOL. If you say you havent ill be forced to believe you a liar.

You maiing an argument against yourselves... you all use these online abbreviations. And you getting pissed off at me for comparing a contraction (which in my opinion is mainly used out of a LEARNED for of laziness), with a online abbreviation which i clearly stated i know is improper.
