This makes zero sense to me. Is it a cost issue? Are they afraid it would be unfair to lower level leagues that can't afford the equipment needed? Is it a problem with tradition? In that they don't want everything in football to become black and white or right and wrong, that they think terrible calls are part of the appeal of football rofl?

$10 mil for Donovan is insane. Do leagues have transfer agreements in place? Like I know in hockey, the NHL and KHL don't have one, so poaching bullshit happens. Is the MLS' fee a lot higher than other leagues??
