Think Joe's got a problem with AI?? "Over the last nine years, this past year was probably the toughest in terms of dealing with issues," Dumars said. "As you all know, I put a premium on character and have guys represent us the right way. Sitting back and watching us go through all the issues we went through last year, I said, 'Never again are we going to be in a situation where we go through those issues and drama.' " http://www.detnews.com/article/20090626/SPORTS0102/906260384/1127/sports0102/Joe-Dumars-goes-for-character-with-Austin-DayeFirst-year coach Michael Curry last season dealt with players missing or being late for buses, planes and meetings. "I think what Joe was most upset about was us losing so many games on Sunday," Curry said. "And that has a lot to do with what (players) did on Saturday night. We want guys to be professional. We want guys who understand they are not only representing themselves and their teammates, but their organization and city, as well. You have to prepare yourself every day to compete. Those are things that should be natural and expected."

The Suns will trade Amare Stoudemire to the Warriors for No. 7 overall draft pick Stephen Curry, among other players, the Arizona Republic reports on its website. http://www.sportingnews.com/nba/article/2009-06-25/stoudemire-reportedly-heading-warriorsThe trade cannot be completed until Wednesday because Golden State would receive Andris Biedrins, a base-year compensation player until June 30, according to the report. Other Warriors players, like power forward Brandan Wright or shooting guard Marco Belinelli, might be part of the deal, according to the report. Part of the Suns' motivation for doing the deal is almost certainly payroll and luxury tax relief. Biedrins is set to make $9 million in the coming season, while Stoudemire's contract is for $16.4 million. Pistons are reportedly going to sign Turk and Boozer. :o

If they do, they'll have a semi awkward log jam at forward, unless they just play boozer at center, with sheed off the bench? interesting What on earth makes you think Sheed is coming back? If they sign Turk, I think it's clear that Tayshaun is about to go. EDIT: BTW, I guess my comments on Curry change a bit if he's a member of the Suns. He can definitely work in that system, but I don't see him as a stud. Just a good spot up shooter.

They'll still live and die with injuries, but they have a puncher's chance.

Though, Hedo causes a hell of a lot of match up problems for most teams because he's a 6'10 guy that can handle the ball and pass the ball well. I really hate to admit it but Prince is way way way worse than Hedo. It is sad how he has deteriorated (before Chauncey left, just in case anyone points to that). As for bringing back Chauncey, that would help us get to the second round at best. ![]()

Seems like a similar profile to Tayshaun. No risk anyway.

Prince's greatest strength is probably the stabilizing force as a point-forward, but he doesn't do enough on offense and his defense is overrated. It's good, but it's not all that great against strong/quick players. He's always gotten torn up in the playoffs by Lebron/Pierce/RJ/Manu and while those are great offensive players, he has really looked bad against them. Rip, on the other hand, has probably been the Pistons' best on-ball defender over the past 3 years, and his coverage of Lebron and Pierce is better than Tayshaun's. And before you go looking, I don't think you can find stats on it because they switch up their defensive assignments a lot. Just watching the game, you can see that Rip is faster and more able to stay in front of each of them, and his hands are more disruptive. Tay funnels them, which worked with Sheed, Ben and Dice playing at all star levels (besides vs. Lebron ) but it doesn't do shit for the current team defense.

Just watched Pros Vs. Joes with Alonzo Mourning and Antoine Walker. There was actually a news story about Antoine being in the best shape of his life and wanting to go back to the NBA, OMG... http://www.spike.com/full-episode/zo-in-your-face/31968

McDyess deserves to go to a contender. I hope he goes to Houston, San Antonio, or LA. He really got screwed this year by returning to the Pistons. I always thought the Pistons underrated him and if they had played him more they may have gotten a second ring.
