It's super weird hearing that song on DT and not Nightcore. I use Nightcore a lot now because i play better in a measurable way with the metronome and the clear notifications when the BPM of the song changes, particularly for high OD

I nearly never use nightcore. The metronome-like function is great, but I feel like it kind of obscures the rest of the song. My experience with accuracy is still that playing along with the music gives me best results, so I prefer DT. But with songs without a clear beat nightcore is clearly superior.

And I just found out that there are only 3 top 50 scores with dt on that song. Might be worth giving it a try in a few months >:D

When i just now played it, I had 108. I kindof cheated though, as i edited it to od9, getting more feedback. It still didnt matter much for accuracy:

when i first played Cheatreal i had like 300

Somehow playing 10.33! Pretty badly, but that map is damn hard~ apologies for quality, was streaming with 750kbit for video which looked surprisingly good but then youtube messed it up quite a bit

if i didn't drop the triplet at 1:48 i might have just passed it, the OD and healthdrain was just a bit too harsh for me to make those mistakes; i played it half a dozen times after that, but i wasn't getting through certain parts consistently

Ok, so I've been thinking about offset a bit. I used to listen to auto and adjust to that, but I became fed up with having to push earlier than i thought i needed, so I've adjusted general offset with the hit error bar, and I had some immediate results, best of which was the following:

This is more than 2% above my best score before this, and believe it or not, I actually had 99.5% just before the stream part.
After the replay I think I'm quite confident the offset is now where it should be.
(UR was 99.7, forgot to put it in the ss)

I find that even with a perfect offset, the place where i mentally track beats on the song etc varies song to song some - or even play session to play session, so i sometimes just adjust by like 1-3ms in one direction. I can set that by playing to feeling (and ignoring feedback of my timing being wrong) and then seeing what is said at the end of the map, if it's -8ms, +4ms for example then i can -2 it and it'll go to -6, +6

damn good acc on that pic, i don't even know the map

Haha, good luck with it

Just remember that a frustrated mind won't improve at all. When you feel frustrated, go and practice something else, like speed or reading ability or something, or stop playing; do some homework, go run a few miles. After that you will likely be able to start again with a fresh mind.

I couldn't gain much from HR (without relaxmod) until pretty recently because even at ~10k rank i struggled with reading ar9.6 patterns, and hr on ar7+ is 9.8 or 10 AR

would have fixed itself if i spammed HR for ages i guess

I play and use fraps to record the replay. My computer is so bad that I experience lag if I run anything besides osu, so my vids are bad, and recording live play is impossible. So my vids aren't exactly the best reference

It ends up like the vid at the start of this page..

I use OBS and live record everything aside from technical issues, because the osu cursor recording for replays and spectating is inadequate, especially for >60hz users. Aim is a huge part of the game for me and videos of replays/spectates with the current cursor sampling (but especially the old, that was 5000x worse) kinda drown out a lot of the useful/interesting information relating to aim.

CPU encoding at a decent resolution and fps (like 1/4 of 1080p @60fps) is not difficult, and if you have an nvidia GPU (gtx650+) you can live encode with NVENC in OBS with no CPU load and no really noticeable performance hit.

As a bonus, OBS lets you just drop in a webcam or whatever, mic recording and very easily do basic scene editing / volume mixing etc with no technical knowledge, none of the awkward recording hands and syncing it to music/replay later stuff. I also have a video on this page as sample, but that was a 540p30 livestream with constant bitrate 750kbit/s for video and just thrown together encoding settings; i could improve that even at that bitrate, and i usually use 720p60 at ~3-10mbit/s (~4-12x higher bitrate)

I just downloaded obs, and can't really get it working without lag. What are the main settings i need to adjust to reduce lag as much as possible? Decrease in quality is ofc no problem.

Atm the level of lag is too much. As illustration on Max burning mapped by gowww:
With recording: 90.7% 200 combo
Without recording: 96% 700 combo
With recording: FAIL
