Ive been doing a bit of an experiment lately. I made a second account for a strictly pve character and Ive been trying to see how fast I can get it to make enough for a plex with only a 5 mil loan from my main.
So far Ive gotten an imicus (yes I started as gallente) and have been running around hisec looking for radar sites. Since its nearing the 24 hour mark since the account was made, I have 58mil in my wallet, 99,404 sp, and 0 implants.
Im doing this mostly because Im bored waiting for cruiser 5 to finish, and alot of people arent able to make enough to plex during their trial period, so I want to see if I can do so in under a week. If this becomes my average income then I should be able to plex the account in 4 and a half days.

Ive only actually played a grand total of 6-7 hours to be honest. Alot of my time is spent being semi afk or completely afk. Im running radar sites, which are signatures you probe to 100%. Things like local virus test sites and shattered life supports are what I attempt to find.
The ship im using is the Imicus, its the t1 gallente probing frig. Currently it is equipped with a core probe launcher with 4 sisters core scanner probes, a codebreaker, a 200mm plate, and a small armor repairer. I have 3 t1 warrior drones in the drone bay. I do not currently have rigs, I only have gallente frigate 2 and astrometric rangefinding 2.
The reason that Ive made so much money already are the decryptors and datacores you find in radars. Datacores can easily be over 200k each and decryptors normally sell for anywhere between 4m and 14m depending on which ones you find. An Operation Handbook for example, goes for 8-9m in rens and is a fairly common drop from angel radar sites.

should have trained caldari, CNR/golem/tengu will be the best money/risk goal for making plex. You can earn 50mil an hour with a well trained CNR. Dominix is okay, but it just doesnt have the speed etc of caldari counterparts, and seeing how you can steamroll l4's with under 1mil SP in a drake it seems only logical to train caldari ships.
With that said, isk earned is only a tell of your playtime. 7 hours played, with 20 afk kind of jumping through gates finding sites etc is still 27 hours played, even if you're watching a movie while doing it.

Not at all. He's doing this as an experiment to see how easy it is to make your plex isk in the first few days, not what the best way of making isk is overall. The fact you can make 50m/hr (which is laughably low) in a golem is neither here nor there, if you're still running missions by the time you have the SP for a golem then something has gone badly wrong.

When I say semi afk I mean I am occasionally tabbing into the game to see when skills are finishing. I really couldnt do much before hacking and drones got done which is why for that time I consider myself semi afk, technically Im still there at the computer, Im just not doing anything in game. When I am completely afk Im not even in the room.
Finding a place to probe takes all of 2 minutes (honestly I already know a number of decent pockets and constellations to probe at so I just type a system name and set dest) and jumping through gates is included in my time estimation.
And gallente is really the best choice for this venue of income because the Imicus has a tank nearly comparable to a rifter as well as 3 drones which is quite a bit of dmg early on. Id love to see someone try to solo one of the more dangerous hisec radars in a heron or a magnate without taking forever or having to warp out.

Look how elitest Kwark is these days once he learned how to market PvP and liquidate LP properly.
Regardless Missioning in a golem is fine for good stable income. There is obviously better once you get to that point but yea.
You also can't really count 20 hours of jumping a gate afk or whatever as play time because frankly...you aren't playing at that point. Autopilot is...automatioc.

Still doesn't mean that you're doing it wrong by running sigs in an imicus when a day old instead of doing l4s in a golem.
