I don't know anything about these Gundam games. How are they compared to Virtual On? I know for VO they call the "force opponent to dash and shoot -> dash and shoot yourself at an angle to avoid their fire and hit them on their dash recovery" vector dashing. Then again, I don't know much about Virtual On either. I'm decent at Senko no Ronde though, but that's 2D and quite different, although vector dashing does play a significant role in that game too.

I mostly play Virtual On. From what I've seen of the Gundam vs games, it requires "vector dashing" as well. If you have Virtual On for DC, watch a replay from top-down view. It will look like Wartech: Senko no Ronde except with less bullets lol. I have Senko no Ronde, do you still play online? I have problem finding opponents in that game . With Virtual On, I can find always find someone to play (on my friend's list anyways). I'm on the west coast and playing people in Japan is near lagless. It has an incredible online, as well as tough and amazing opponents similar to ICCUP.

If you don't have it, the game is only $15. You get ICCUP quality opponents, near lagless experience against anywhere, observer mode to watch friends play, replays, daily uploaded expert replays. There is a Japanese tournament held about every month and foreigner are welcome to participate. The last one I've seen was a 128 man tournament. They are always looking for new blood. The VO community is great and willing to help any newcomers.

I still play SnR online, and as far as I know I'm one of the best non-Japanese players in the world lol (which doesn't mean anything since there's like 10 people that ever played the game outside 1p mode), though I'd love to be proven wrong. There's a few people on my friends list that still try to play regularly--pm me for their tags if interested. Add me, XBL: Myrmidon0. I'm EC though, but hopefully it's better than playing Europeans, which I resort to doing.

I have VOOT on my console that my bro downloaded. I tried it for a couple hours and sucked horribly though. Actually I think I suck at vector dashing. In SnR I main Karel A (messing with B now though), yet I suck at Karel mirrors. I figure the Karel mirror is the closest thing to Virtual On in that game.

Maybe I'll give VOOT a real shot, but with other games like SnR, SF4, BB, etc. I'm not sure I'll be motivated to put in the time.

I have several people that has both VOOT and SnR. I suppose the people that plays those game have similar interest. We both like controlling giant robots and fast pace arcade games

Here is some tip to destroy the CPU in VOOT. (Works up to a point on human too)

1. jump-cancel to lockon! Press jump (to lock on) then instantly press crouch (to land immediately).
-I can't stress how important this is. This is one of the most basic skills, but not enough new players do it. It is the fastest and safest way get your opponent in sight. If you can't see your opponent, then they are allowed to do whatever they want.

2. throw out a lot of stationary attacks until the CPU is force to dash.
-that force the opponent to move first so you can dash to intercept

3. dash to the side then turn to forward then RW (right weapon attack)
-dashing to the side will dodge their attack while the forward dash attack is the most powerful variant and has the best chance of hitting.

Even for a v-13 main like me, that grand finals was kind of hard to watch. I kind of lost track of the sets, but I think it went:

Goryus (from loser's; v-13) 3-1 Pulsr (v-13)
Goryus (v-13) 1-3 Pulsr (v-13)

Pulsr 1st place, Goryus 2nd place, Copper Dabbit 3rd place. 3rd strike next.
