I guess you've never seen it done right. Axe takes around no damage from creeps with tree eaters and/or shield. First tower goes down in a matter of minutes, it's not for the FB, it's for the tower gold, creep gold, and the ability to deny you exp + gold. This allows Axe to have items way faster than others (and he only really needs vanguard, boots before he's practically untouchable early).

If a warlock axe come and do that, you can sit at your tower and keep it up for a long time by kiting creeps around. Depending even on lane you can just own axe with range/spells what not.
Also it fails if you have a chen/ench jungler because you can out man power them with a big creep early and get a kill.

A good axe wouldn't just let you run in circles around your tower.
Anyways, forget it. It doesn't happen that much anyways.

not true, that same axe will die if he tower dives before he has phase boots + ult. Therefore your lane should be getting the same cs as their lane, same exp etc etc until level 6, in which you have to back off or call for help. Ive played against the lane a decent amount before and as long as you are careful and not hasty about decisions, you will do fine vs that lane.

Umm I see this in pubs every time, in -em and non-em, its the easiest thing to stomp and it makes me laugh everytime i see it, cause I have stomped them with heroes like Troll and Void and just completely destroying them with easier heroes. And yes you can kite the creeps off the towers and just move back, so you don't lose the tower and you don't lose farm or exp, Axe can stand there all he wants and try to hunger you, if you know how to last hit and deny hunger won't tick for more than 3 seconds and hes going to run out of mana so you don't even have to respect his culling at 6. Such a joke strategy that only works against noobs.
And no decent axe goes vanguard, such a worthless item.

vanguard isnt worthless, its just there are better items earlier. phase and blink are priorities on axe whereas van is just something you add in later.

i've seen it work in pro games... they did a triple lane w/ cm, wl and axe. they won the game in less than 30 minutes. it was so awesome. the wl bought axe like 6 tangos i think, and axe went out w/ 2 stouts.
