However, it's my experience (of which there isn't all that much tbh) with dxd and gdg that you will still catch weak players and real frustrating situations. Both of those IHLs have invite only levels which you can get to by playing a lot of league games and becoming well known. My advice if you are just getting started is sign up for dxd, play some games and just follow what the inevitable bossy person on your team tells you to do until you get a feel for league play, heaven knows it's better than pubs.

Also if you have a reasonably strong team already CEVO's fire and ice tournament, which does have cash prizes, is now free to enter and is open to the first 64 teams that register. I would personally like to see TL post a team and see if it beats mine. cevo.com
