But no one will TMM with you because well... your rating just sucks utter balls. If you're consistently at a certain rating for a decent number of games, then I'm afraid you belong there. The system works.
That's not the issue or the question, nor am I looking for a debate if the system works though.

Ok well if you're significantly better than the rating you're at, you'll win games fairly easily regardless of your team. What's the issue then?

I recall you asking how to get out of the 1400s because solo queuing gets you the most "unbelievably incompetent people". Clearly you must be significantly better than 1400s to make that call.

I got to my normal rating on my alt in a coupla days, and only then did i start to lose more than 20% of my games in mm ;o

I'm not going to clarify because you're leaving verbal pitfalls for arguments, rather than giving me suggestions how to come out of a predicament, you're making presumptions and saying how something should occur, instead of giving possibilities.
To engage would cause an argument, but to ensure no misunderstandings (apparently others understand what I mean): some people, despite having a similar rating than me, play so poorly that they bring down the entire team or cause the team to have such an advantage that it creates it harder for someone at my level to compensate the difference.
Because someone is bad doesn't imply that I'm good, that's your misinterpretation.
Hope that repairs the whole thing. (guess I did clarify)

Take hag or something, bloodlust mid and gank sidelanes like crazy. Even if your team is atrocious you'll put the other team so far behind your team will pull through.

It's possible for your rating to drop in the short-run by a reasonable amount but in the long-run it'll move to where it should be. If your rating is lower than it should be, that gives you an extra advantage each game. You also have a chance to get players who are better than their MMR on your team.

I think I'm a 1400-1500 player, no doubt there. I just keep getting paired with people who know less than me (believe it or not). A few games back, I played with a Magmus who gave 3 kills in 1 minute and a half (Empath and Moraxus I think). He kept trying to kill empath with stun and auto-attack .____.
And that's not uncommon. I'll sometimes get even dumber people who won't allow solomid or who get items completely unrelated to their hero.
Maybe they're just playing for fun, I dunno.

Actually being able to call someone bad does imply that you're good. If you yourself are bad, then you can't possibly believe you can judge others' skill accurately, right? Of course we are talking relatives here (good relative to the players you're calling bad); in absolute sense, nobody is 'good' unless you're placing in tournaments.
Anyway, to get out of 1400s, just play better. This applies to any rating. If you feel confident that your knowledge is up to par, something else must be holding you back. It's not your teammates. Map awareness, technical ability, etc, work on those.

You also have a chance to get players who are better than their MMR on your team. ...I just keep getting paired with people who know less than me (believe it or not)].... I can believe it. However, that doesn't mean very much. Let me tell you a story:
I have a friend who is ~500 MMR on his main account. I've been playing with him for a couple months and giving him advice constantly. He also watches plenty of pro games and streams. He's acquired a fair bit of experience with a variety of heroes and has good knowledge of item and hero builds. However, he's still 500 MMR and still terrible.
My friend is bad because he isn't as good as he thinks he is. Don't get me wrong; he knows plenty more than people even at 1600 MMR. The reason why he isn't as good as 1600 MMR is because he lacks skills and knowledge in the important areas. He has terrible game sense, bad mechanics, and lacks foresight. He focuses on the least important things and doesn't improve on the important things because he's blinded by how "he's better than his MMR."
Stop being so touchy about your MMR. Stop caring about idiots' dick-waving-contests. Stop caring about trash talking and insults. Focus on getting better in practice rather than your "theoretical" skill based on what you know.

No, it just means they play below my level which happens to be (presumably) the average of 1400/1500 rating. I can judge others based on my own experience and expectations considering I'm not seeing highly of myself and know my limitations.
Thanks for the advice :3

What does a 500 MMR game even look like? I boosted a friend from 1300 MMR and that was hilarious. Single Draft ended up with me getting Myrmidon as nobody replied to my calls for swaps. Carry Myrm is awesome though on a related note. Heavy focus on stats to not die after ulting and wave forming in, stuff like Shrunken, Nullstone, Frostwolf etc.
