Originally I thought this event was gonna suck hard. I mean, Squirtle? A Blastoise with Hydro Cannon is still a Blastoise... I was ready to come here and on reddit and bitch about this event being balls. We had ample opportunities in June to catch Squirtles during the Water Festival, so why a Squirtle community day so soon? Hell, I had a 95%IV Blastoise and 200 candy before this event even started... But in the end, it didn't turn out *that* bad at all. What you want to do is go to 3 stops and get the quests "catch 5 Squirtles" and you'll get a guaranteed encounter with a Squirtles with shades on. The beautify of it is that that Squirtle with sunglasses can also be shiny. Get the 3 same quests and only then go hunting for wild Squirtles. You'll find shinies that way anyway. So disregard wild Squirtles. Disregard shiny Squirtles, disregard Squirtles with sunglasses. Aim for Shiny Squirtles with Shades. AKA "ShinyShades" Squirtles. I got a nice haul of 4 of those ShinyShades with 95+ IVs, not to mention innumerable normal and sunglasses that are above 85IVs and sadly normal shinies that all suck dick below 60% IVs. | ||

Especially combined with the rest of the event. Idk it's annoying that you feel compelled to evolve mons in this small window that you're also catching a bunch and trying to figure out what has good IVs and what doesn't. If there was no Hydro Cannon you could just collect a bunch and sort it out later. | ||

Directly after I Had taken over a gym, one is the person's that was in the gym sent me a friend request. And I am talking seconds after I was finished. It felt weird when it happened. They probably found my code from a local Facebook group. | ||
