Even for a hypno, don't pump one up. Just catch a bunch and save the highest CP. You should be able to get something like an above average max level Hypno. Spending the dust to pump them up is still a waste.
On dragonites... Even though they're easier to knock out it's a still a good pokemon choice for people who are behind in levels or lack a high IV Snorlax/Lapras because it gives you a chance to slot highly in a gym where otherwise you may be the bottom rung.
My halloween hatching was quite mixed...
I went from 1 10km egg (pre event) to hatching 5 of them during the event and got Kabuto, Kabuto, Eevee, Eevee, Aerodactyl. I already had both Kabutotops and an Aerodactyl, though the latter is not the worst as it's going to be fun someday to pump the latter one up if I have the spare stardust. So pretty meh. I got Tangela, Bulbasaur, Charmander, and 2x Pikachu from the lesser eggs so that made me feel better at least.

level 7 and 10 mystic gyms went up at my work over the weekend. took down the level 7 in about 20 mins. will get the level 10 during lunch. mystic doesnt have to complain about gym stagnation around my office. muahahahhahah.
edit: my helpful teammate just put in a cp 600 venonat under my 2300 snorlax. guess i will be fighting a mystic gym again tomorrow. lol.

Got my Ghost medal. 11 more cubones and its the ground one. That will bring me to Bug, Psychic, Poison, Normal, Flying, Grass, Water, Ghost and Ground for the catch bonuses. Need a really good Magnemite nest lol

So, just got home and it's time for "What did I pick up at the park this afternoon?" These are all 80%+ hatched or caught today:
Pidgey, Weedle, 2xRattata, Goldeen, 3xPsyduck, 2xRyhorn, 2xShellder, 2xGastly, Oddish, Dratini, Poliwag, Staryu, 2xBellsprout, Exeggcute, Ekans, and Spearow.
Honorable mentions: Lickitung, Magmar, Dragonair, 8xDratini
Bummer: Hitmonlee(one of the 2 left in the NA dex for me) spawned on a lure while I was taking a trip around the park to pick up more pokeballs, so I missed it.
To be seen: Picked up two 10ks. If one of them turns into an Aerodactyl(the other one I need), I'll be miffed.

Lucky me, got to work for most of the event (well, shame on me for working at a party store during Halloween, I guess). All I managed was to eke out the silver ground and psychic medals, and just shy of the ghost one. Also, like five or six Dratini candies. Well, back to 'karp walking for the moment.

Have they announced the conclusion of the event? Probably not as the start was a bit of a mystery but I'm still getting double candy and increased buddy candy.
Used a lucky egg yesterday, currently dumping all my evolve chaff for the double candy now.

On the announcement they said "through Nov 1st" so we should still have today. However, it started on UTC time, so unless they changed that it might end earlier than midnight.

Well I spun 3 this afternoon. Fortunately I had the foresight/caution to not queue up an egg for my last use on an incubator 30 in earlier. Time to gooooooo
6km left on the first, 9 on the second. I got all my bad luck out of the way by hatching 2 Meowth 5ks as I started...

Finally hot big on a 10k for this event, new Dratini with 57 candies(59 after I transfered it). Between the massive haul yesterday and this hatch, I have enough for my 3rd Dragonite. Also managed to pick up another couple 10ks, about to hatch as we speak.

Yeah, I don't know what happened. I was getting awful luck before the event but got them pretty often during. I guess it's counterbalanced by only one being something that people actually want.

wife hatched a pinsir today. despite buying (with free google money) about 6 incubators and hatching all of the eggs i could (all uses were used), i did not get any 10k eggs. sad face.
saving up gym coins for thanksgiving/christmas events. dont know if they are happening, but i will be ready with incubators.

On the bright side, I got my silver ghost medal and found a good Meowth! Also my 5km eggs (all two of them) came up with Slowpokes... which means I have enough candies to evolve one. (Which is... something?)

this is a good idea, I'm a $0 player and my plan is to collect coins for the next two weeks so I can buy a 25 egg bundle, then i'll save the rest and use them at christmas.

slowbros are near top tier defenders so thats nice. Ice beam is nice against grass types.
I hatched 6 10k's, nothing good unfortunately except for maybe the eevee candy. Also added 69 km to my lapras this event :D
