c9 vs lunatik was great

n0thing gets ddos'd, c9 can't win but plays 10 or so rounds with n0thing popping in and out. The match is forfeited, which to my knowledge meant that CSGL should refund all skins. But CSGL apparently declared that lunatik won, though only 15 rounds were played.

What I'm getting: DDOSing is an effective way to win skins. It just is. Everyone should get botnets, work to find the IPs of players, and have a good time.

finding player IPs shouldnt be hard since very few have netsec knowledge. I'm probably sure 90% of csgo players are still using VOIP software unprotected and not behind VPNs (and the worst part is they're probably using skype which should be nuked from orbit)

I myself don't know how to protect against DDOS because I've never had to, but I know the means are out there. One of the problems with VPNs for instance is that the relay will naturally increase your ping but I assume you can just patch most of your unsecure crap through a VPN, but connect your game directly to CSGO, which is not a problem so long as no one has your IP (which would be secure if your skype and other garbage are relayed).

Well nonetheless I'm mostly talking out of my ass, my point is fuck everything.

And I don't even bet. I just hate to see the fucking assholes making money and skins or whatever.

best way to protect yourself from DDOS.

1. Don't use skype ever/dont leave it on
2. Only VOIP where the host is some random server somewhere (so mumble/TS)
3. Call your ISP to see if you can routinely cycle your IP.

that's really it. hard part for most people is step 1 since they don't understand netsec

Yeah, well n0thing realistically should know things as basic as that. I'd assume he's getting caught through some other service maybe.

Nonetheless my concern right now is that CSGL rolled a Lunatik won despite a DDOS-related forfeit. I agree that CSGL and those sites shouldn't be held responsible for the DDOS epidemic we're dealing with, but they shouldn't reward it...

CSGOlounge is a crappy website and problem is that there are no other good alternatives (There's like bookie.gg and csgoloot.com but they're not even up yet) so they can corner the market, fuck up, and not really get punished for it.

According to my buddy the roll for the match hasn't ended so I don't know if it's actually taking place, don't really know how it works, but yeah anyways. A damn shame.

Tough game for TL so far, ouch.

Sigh. NA CS is so terrible right now. Only team worth watching gets DDOSd every single match and all the other teams are basically jokes that rely on inconsistent individual performances to ever win anything.

Big news for CEVO and North America.

NEW YORK (March 9, 2015) – CEVO, North America’s largest competitive online PC gaming league, and MLG, one of the fastest growing digital networks worldwide, today announced a partnership to allow MLG.tv to become the exclusive broadcast partner for the CEVO CS:GO Season 7 Pro League and host the LAN Finals at the MLG.tv Arena in Columbus, Ohio on July 24-26, 2015.

Season 7 will kick off with two Professional Placement Invitational Tournaments where 16 teams each from North America and Europe will compete for the last available coveted spots in their region’s Season 7 Professional skill division and an eventual shot at the lion’s share of over $135,000 USD in prize money and travel support.

“We were impressed with CEVO’s operation of CS: GO during our historic X Games Aspen broadcast,” said Adam Apicella, EVP, MLG Properties “We’re excited to be working with them again and look forward to what the future holds for this partnership.”

“MLG.tv has been a great partner with us thus far in CS:GO,” said Chris Pipher , General Manager, CEVO “Their ability to produce top-tier events at the MLG.tv Arena and broadcasting acumen is second to none. Together we’ll be able to improve on virtually every aspect of our seasonal CS:GO events.”
