They can maybe contend to be top 25, though the people around them seem to be improving faster than they are
beyond that seems unlikely
@darthfoley: http://wiki.teamliquid.net/smash/EVO_2014/Quarters_Brackets, he got 13th (lost to Zanguzen and Plup)

Wat? When was the last time there was a fox ditto grand finals...?
Protip: never

No one but Hax, Axe, and probably Leffen can challenge the big 5 right now. I'm stating the obvious here, and I'm not trying to provoke any TL fans here, but Ken+KDJs time is long gone. They're still better than the majority of the smash community out there, but they don't have the skill to be top contenders anymore, if ever again.
Hax had a disappointing tourney. That Zangouzen(?) guy that beat Hax was a pretty good Falco player, but he just looked pretty bad playing against Nintendude. Guessing it was lack of ICs experience, because Falco should have little to no problem getting in on ICs, pressuring them, splitting them up, and then spiking Nana off the stage.
One day Axe will break out of the 5th place spot barrier and grab top 3 for himself. The big 5 cannot deny the mouse forever.

The reason for that is Armada. No Fox except Mango's can beat his Peach.

Yeah, before Armada every grand finals was Fox dittos. Since he got here though, like at EVO, he ran through noted Fox mains Scar, HDL, Plup, Fly Amanita, Axe, and PPMD to prevent the hated finals from happening.

Zanguzen is a very old school NY Falco (aka he's from Hax's region.) He's known for his super-patient Falco, but I was as surprised as anyone that he beat Hax.
He should've taken out Nintendude though
and the highest-level Fox ditto GFs that there have been recently are like, SSS's, heh

"before Armada every grand finals was Fox dittos" seems like a questionable statement. When is before Armada? Well let's say he broke into the scene in 2009 with a 1st place in Smash Attack and a 2nd place in Genesis 1. Then let's look at tournaments before these, and see whether their top 3s are populated by only Foxes.
RoM 1: Mango, M2K, DaShizWiz Pound 3: Mango, M2K, PC Chris 2007 Evo World: Ken, HugS, Mango MLG Las Vegas 2006: PC Chris, KoreanDJ, Ken GS2: Ken, ChuDat, Azen Game Over: Ken, Azen, Isai
Obviously there are tons and tons more tournaments to consider, but even from these somewhat notable tournaments spanning 5 years of pre-Armada smash history, we see not a single Fox main in the top 3.

Uhhh Fox ditto GFs have always been rarer, heck Fox GFs have been rare until Mango. Funny enough it was Armada who actually created a Fox ditto GFs (RoF,Beast), because Leffen was a Fox that could beat his Peach lol.

His play just looks a lot cleaner as a whole. He'll never return to his former dominance but he might get to the point where he can give some people trouble.

ICs vs Falco is pretty evenish, slight advantage for falco imo.

Leffen can't beat him. M2K can't beat him. Those are 2 really good Fox players. To be fair to you though, no one will/would challenge Mango in Fox dittos, so he could definitely be the reason why no one plays Fox vs him in GFs, if any Fox player does make it there. Good Marths have been an obstacle for Fox players as well, Ken/Azen/M2K, as someone mentioned in the past.
Also, EVO = all tournies ever apparently. Armada has been around in NA (albeit a bit on and off in the earlier years perhaps) since 2008.

another reason is that he goes Falco when faced with a Fox because he doesn't like Fox dittos.

If Chillin can do it, Ken and KDJ can definitely do it and become real top contenders again. They're doing very well for the time they've had imo

PPMD...EG curse? HungryBox was pretty hyped though. As much as I wanted to see Armada vs. Mango in grand final, HB beating Armada's YL and PPMD's falco is an achievement I'm glad I witnessed. Coming into evo, I was expecting HB to fall off as one of the gods, but was proven wrong. Good job HungryBox. SilentWolf's run was unexpected also. KoC4 was the best tournament this summer, imo.

i havent been watching kdj, but ken is actually getting pretty good in socal. hes still old man slow and has bad habits but sometimes he plays really well

So what you are saying is, Fox dittos GF IS RARE ...And it's not because of Armada because prior to that Fox had a few GFs appearances. Plus Leffen has shown to be capable of beating his Peach, which funnily enough actually brought the Fox ditto GFs upon us. Remember Fox was derided as not being able to win tourneys because it was true (PC was the only one who really won anything), until friggin Mango. I don't get it, as good as AR is he's no more of a reason than M2K, PP, etc. for Fox not making to GFs lol. Also Armada's first NA tourney was Genesis, in the summer of 09.

Sometimes he pulls off the sickest combos and other times he just does the scrubbiest shit. He's improved so much over the last few years though. It's actually so funny how lopsided Ken vs Scar was at KoC4 was compared to KoC2. He'll never be top tier, but he's still damn fun to watch, and that's enough for me.

Many of the things Ken does just make no sense and seem like age-old bad habits. He has many flashes of brilliance though and is very entertaining as far as Marths go.
He's not even that bad at this point, I consider 33. at EVO respectable.
