I don't think he would implement such a complex system and just remove it afterwards. And I think some people would just cry for it in any other difficult ledge like situation. I agree the fun part is the chaos, but I guess completing the game is the priority over watching the chaos. It wasn't that unlikely that they could do the maze on the old system, it could take a while, but they really weren't that far from it in a couple of attempts.

I agree that the vote system should be taken out now that we managed to get through the maze, but we could have been stuck in this maze for months otherwise, seeing how hard it was to clear even with the votes. And it would have been (was already) really not fun. Yeah, it is a bit of saltiness cause essentially someone burned my book. To sum it up, the narrative that compelled me and I'm sure others is twitch types buttons -> small delay -> buttons get inputted into a game of (slightly modded) pokemon red, let's see how far we can go. That narrative is dead, we will never find out how far twitch chat can go (the answer is not the maze, there was at least 3 separate occasions where it was 1 step from complementing the maze without the democracy vote). It's like me reading a book 1/3rd of the way through, someone takes my book and burns it then gives me a slightly different book that removes anything that might be too advanced for me. Sure, there's still a slightly different narrative, a conclusion, and it's basically the same book, but why'd you burn my book? I was having fun reading it and I liked that book, not this washed down version. Anyways, I have no problems with anyone that still enjoy the stream/participate in it, it's just not my cup of tea now and I feel it should be easier to sympathize with people who feel the stream is pretty much dead to them -- you've killed the original narrative that people cared about and left it without a conclusion, or, rather, even worse, an inconclusive conclusion (how far could we have really gone?) -- which is why I posted.
