I know BoP can be a bitch, but it makes the world look so much better. I'd hate to lose it.
Dump Mystcraft. Maybe it's the issue, maybe it's not. It's a huge source of complaints and we damn near don't use it at all. I like solars, but I easy-mode nerfed ones sonud kind of lame. I dunno. Dump Aquaculture. Seems pretty useless for us and it's rarely used. Carpenter's Blocks have some nice uses, even if they're not used a ton. It's such a small mod that it seems there's no great reason to remove it. Definitely keep ComputerCraft. Aixler would kill you in your sleep. I'm all for removing Mysts of Riov. It added all this stuff that was basically totally ignored in favor of other items and creatures that were more annoying than interesting (tons of fun spending 5 minutes to kill something 1 hp at a time).
Yeah it's a restart. The existing one is pretty boned. Sere basically talking along the lines of a week+ rollback with no guarantee of fixing anything. You should come to IRC.

So I've been busy. Everything that could be updated has been updated to 1.6.4. Really the main casualty in all this is that Gravisuite doesn't work with 1.6.4. There were 5 other mods that didn't update, but those seem to still work fine.
There are now backups running every 30 minutes in the background. I'm planning to keep something like 1-3 days of this interval, then more sparse intervals beyond that.
We had 4 people online and it's been up for a few hours without any issues so far.
Aixler and I set up a small house by spawn with a teleporter to far away (100k blocks out) to be used for quarrying since we don't have the mining world any more.
I am a complete noob in minecraft, in fact i haven't even really played yet.
However, i recently randomly watched a lot of Yogscast Minecraft videos, and am really interested in this game now. Are you guys friendly to noobs, and would this be a good place to start? If yes, what do i need to do?
Can anyone recommend a good texture pack, preferably one that has skins for most of the stuff we got on our server? I've tried a few, but especially the trees always look like shit.
Added Gravisuite (finally updated for 1.6.4). Probably fixed Thaum jetpacks kicking you from server. Lowered spawn protection to (maybe) allow doors on spawn house.'
