Perhaps they expect the sheer volume of sales to compensate for it. Sony really is banking on the far superior features of the PS4 compared to the Xbone, and if their tactic to appear better works, they can sell millions in weeks, which should be enough to give optimism about the console.

The same way they hoped to break even last gen by selling software/maybe peripherals cause im almost certain theyre losing a lot on the console itself unless theyre some upgrade for hd or something that drastically raises the price

They don't need to break even on the hardware, they'll catch up on software sales and ps+. Sony learned that from last gen. Microsoft did not.

The PS4 has better graphics and is undoubtedly a more reliable machine (with the XBox consistently being the most error-prone console out there). He means past generation. Which is true, generally speaking multiplatform games had better performance on Xbox 360.

If the cards go as well as they have played them then the market share and stock will make up for it in the long run.

Microsoft and Sony have both done this, nintendo traditionally haven't but i think that changed with the wii u

That is why if you need a new PC its stupid to not buy this have them take the loss for you its a great deal. Later on in its life though your back behind the PC. Really smart by sony to go more PC parts and importantly letting developers just make games like they do on PC everyone knows PC hardware so well.

Kinect. My kids love that stuff. Plus some exclusive titles. Outside of the used games issue, which MS may address, there isn't a massive difference outside of exclusive titles.
