Well we're making a big assumption about who's fault the offensive woes are. Woodson, of course, has to take the final blame, but, as similar as this is to the Atlanta teams, is it really so much different than the Nuggets teams?
Bebe- you misunderstand. They aren't saying that Melo is a 6th man. They're saying that no team with him as the primary option is going to win a championship (or likely get to a CF).
Also, not playing Copeland and Novak more at this point is criminal.
Melo is a max contract player on a sub-championship level team. His best asset for a team is his marketing potential which may, in fact, make him worth the money, but he's not worth the money if you're going for championships.
This Knicks team isn't competing with the Heat with Phil Jackson or Greg Popovich or Pat Riley as their coach. It's an old team built without a real offensive system in mind, and when it did have an offensive system, youth and room to grow, that was all scrapped in order to get Carmelo. Now they've got stars and little to no cohesion.
He is a chucker and Woodson calls them, in part, because that's how he plays. How many seasons in a row do they have to go through this for people to realize it? He's not quite the black hole he was during most of his time in Denver, but he still tends to be a ball stopper and he doesn't open up their perimeter shooters as well as Felton/Chandler PnRs do (although the Pacers are great against it.) If you're going to live and die with Carmelo going off while taking difficult shots, you're going to do a whole lot of dying.
It's funny that Knicks fans keep citing the Pacers defense as unbreakable, as if Wade/Bryant/Jordan and Lebron never had to play stingy and even more physical defenses. This isn't something isolated to this specific team (although the Knicks roster was poorly put together.) His eFG % in the playoffs is a good 5% lower than those superstars throughout their careers.
The team's offensive rating is actually higher without him on the floor, this post-season.

One can dream. I don't think any team is charitable enough to go like 6/22 over an entire quarter. Good to see Nate Robinson finding the damn basket again too.
Just caught the last seconds of the first half on the radio.
Is it true the Heat were up 18 points in the first quarter but are now down 6? Dah fuck Miami? You're playing a team that couldn't beat the Lakers atm and they are showing you up at home. Embarassing.

How many years do you figure Wade can still play at a top level? The knee issues seem to be recurring and a big part of his game is attacking the basket. As a Wade fan I definitely hold my breath everytime he comes down with a tumble and starts wincing lol
I'm still very confident the Heat will win this game, but holy hell... this Heat team is looking less and less scary. With Wade being a shell of himself they are going to have their hands full with the Pacers.
It feels like the only way the Bulls can score is some wild shot that magically goes down as the shot clock runs out. No way that can be maintained as the Heat lock down even more in the 4th.
