I think Neal let them off. He kept giving them a chance to surrender and they refused, so I don't think he wanted to kill them yet.

this is my first night watching this (fun as shit btw), but a quick google reveals that "evard's black tentacles" is a 4th level spell, and a 4th level wizard should have all sorts of other fun stuff slotted in to finish off the rest of the party. bregor might have been able to solo him though with the double attack every other round, so if the DM was weighing the dice a bit, it's not too immersion-breaking that the wizard would just say "f this" and leave.

riker went invisbile and asked them to surrender the sword, jp and inc did some healing and abigail and ryan spent two round shooting arrows to the last known direction in vane. nothing happened and they decided to head back to town

I feel like the wizard wasn't actually that powerful, at least in terms of HP. He had to summon a bunch of trash-mob tier lizardmen to distract for his tentacle-summoning spell, which apparently could've been disrupted and that one shot by Bregor apparently staggered him/made him bleed (which seems like a good chunk of HP removed).

Of course, luck and party decisions made this a bit of a let-down, but it happens; reminds me of the other guy who went invisible and even that random ogre female a while back.

Also, I love how Bregor's taking charge now. He was just that quiet guy pulled in for scouting and charisma before but now he's a ridiculous tank with a decent sword/bow and he's making goofy yet awesome quips about his hat or Bregor's Boyz.

I was totally expecting at least one fireball to fly down on them.

Besides, if they hung around the area for a bit longer, his invis would have worn off, unless he quietly legged the scene. Levitate doesn't allow horizontal movement, so he would be in the area, or maybe he cast fly while invisibly levitating and then took off.

Anyway, felt like Riker should have had way more spells to use.
