Fanatiq doesn't play for money @ tourney games. Dude has repeatedly said he makes money in tourney from sidebets and money matches. Considering he won one single major in his 10+ years playing fighting games Im pretty sure it's correct lol.

The game they were playing was UMvC3, which is probably the most played fighting game at the moment. (If you're familiar with the arcades of old, you might remember Marvel 1 and 2). Gotcha, thanks. Tekken tag is surprisingly fun to watch. Are Cafe ID players the final bosses? This Knee guy seems tough in Tekken Tag. And they tossed everyone in the dumpster in KoF

You're right, but he's still motivated by money, because he's poor as hell. Just like most top players are. Your assessment of how much of their income comes from fighting games is just wrong, and none of the players you mentioned have day jobs. Hell, Justin hasn't worked in years. Yipes I'm not totally sure about, I know he does stuff for BT, but it's not exactly what you'd call a 9-5. Glory is all good, but the players need to eat too, so I don't have a problem with Fanatiq throwing the match to help promote PDP or whatever. You're free to a different opinion, but don't go misrepresenting things claiming that these guys don't need/care about the money.

Money is good and all but if they don't have enough money from somewhere to sustain themselves first they wouldn't be able to pursue a gaming career in the first place, whether it be through stable sponsorship or a job. And these guys have jobs, 9-5 or w/e. Let's not be delusional here and imagine that the 5k pot or w/e for all the podium finishers in these monthly majors that realistically have 10 or more solid contenders for can actually sustain anyone but like 3 players in the US. Also, how it is any benefical for pdp if you throw a match live and then tell other people you threw it to promote pdp? Only reputation you're gonna get your company is that your company is sponsoring a fraud and a match rigger. And saying that money's important to them so it's ok to throw matches is like saying it's ok for Savior and all those b-teamers to throw matches to get more money. Like, come on, keep it real here and stop playing the devil advocate bullshit.

He's totally able to support himself with all the dollars he got from winning like no majors ever since Marvel 3 is released right? If you're going to use 4 players as examples, then at least make sure you're right before you post. Your math of how much they make at majors is cool and all, but it doesn't change the facts. I'll agree that a lot of top players do have jobs, but you happened to pick 4 (3?) who don't, which kind of discredits your entire argument since it shows that you don't know anything. Also, fixing matches is a lot different than throwing matches. Betting against yourself and then throwing should obviously be punished. Throwing a match because you don't want to win it, within the rules of the tournament, is another story, and is totally unenforceable, but I know I'm in the minority in this belief. I would still rather have the players be upfront about their splits than put on a fake show for the cameras.

Yeah, well he makes most of his money through his sponsorship and money matches. And admitting you're worse than Chris G isn't exactly the same as admitting you can't compete. He knows he could beat Chris in a Bo5 sometimes, but Chris still has a much better chance of winning the tournament.

The characters coming to do one hit and going back, the fact that sometimes one character fly so high you can't see the ennemy for a few seconds.. I think I need to play it but I have way too many ' what the hell is going on" moments when watching it. oO

It's really uncharacteristic of him (or anyone playing games, period) to just throw like that in a tourney, and the timing happens to coincide with him getting his ass banned from commentating on a TS stream for promoting AGE. Then he does this and goes "It's to have a better chance of repping AGE." Really? The way that reasoning sounds looks like someone just want to take a shot at Larry and Spooky.
