The FGC won't catch up to that in just a couple of years, unless Capcom, Namco, Madcatz etc. (Muh CPM :p) start dishing out some serious monies and Japan decides that FGs should be shown on TV regularly. Correct me if I'm wrong lol.

Also, let's not forget that "e-sports games" are designed with online play in mind. Anyone that ever got "into" a fighting game will most likely attest to the fact that playing an FG online, isn't exactly the same thing as playing it locally. Big difference there; Even considering the fact that the same can be said about "e-sports games". On top of that FGs are pretty much 1v1 ordeals, no "testing the waters" in team games etc. (Isuka and Cross-Tekken withstanding :p).
Games like SF4 and BlazBlue, for example, seem to try and "crutch" the beginner/online experience with buffer frames and whatnot (which is great, as long as they don't fuck up the new Guilty Gear Kappa), but they'd be better off investing in internet providers .

TLDR; ChrisG crying all the time isn't helping things :p
