eh.
I'm not surprised that they'd be using those same kind of cracks. Say what anyone will about pirating, but those crack coders deliver a product that's higher standard of quality than any of the DRM shit infested crap the publishers pour out. Making games harder to use legit than illegal is a funny way to do business, especially when the illegit side is usually providing quality of a couple "ok" clicks and you're off to play.
Still, don't pirate good games kids. support the few good devs and buy their stuff. Or embrace f2p and learn how a free game ends up being more expensive than a boxed copy ^^

This is a great sale, and I really hope they have Baldur's Gate there as well. And I hope they can make a version of the first Command and Conquer game that actually works on Windows 7.
<3 GoG <3 As far as I know any game that is sold there will work with Win7, even if it comes packed with a Dosbox.

Yes, I know. I have a friend who have it from GoG and he uses Win7, and it works perfectly. I hope to get both games for 10 bucks though.

Populous: The Beginning is a incredibly underrated game.. go try it! Amazing RTS
|
Populous II is one of the greatest strategy games ever IMO, but populous I can be avoided.

|
get the witcher 2 as long as you can!
|
Man, I've been eyeing Theme Hospital, Dungeon Keeper 2, and Populous: The Beginning ever since I heard about the sales. I'm glad I waited a bit longer and ended up with the Bullfrog bundle. I'm not sure I'll ever play the others, but an extra $3, or so, to try them out might be worth it.
This is really awesome.
|
Just bought the Bullfrog bundle; I'm off to re-live a childhood spent torturing do-gooders and whipping subordinate creatures. I will play some Dungeon Keeper probably, too.
|
Look, you can buy Heroes II & Heroes III for $5 each. Those two games alone are like 500+ hours of my younger days. Amazing games. And they run on Win 7 easily.
FTL is $5 - which is a FANTASTIC price for hours of space roguelike fun.
Such a great sale. Get the games you remember from way back in a form that easily runs on your modern OS. GoG.com delivers =)

Yeah, I'll pirate that. I was looking up some random trivia about DK earlier today and I ended up on the bullfrog wikipedia page and from there saw GoG mentioned and it seemed familiar. I tabbed back to tl, looked at the sports and games section for my beloved eve and was like "surely not". Clearly fate has conspired to make me play DK all Christmas. And I will absolutely pay for it, both for the compatibility and because whoever came up with the idea of buying the rights to offer a legitimate crack for these amazing old games should be rewarded. Yes, I'm paying for something that has been on torrents forever but equally I'm paying $2, that's reasonable. This is the gaming industry getting it right.

I posted that in my capacity as a forum user. DK:DD is no longer being made or sold anywhere and is not compatible beyond 98 (I think). I do actually own two copies of it but it always crashes on the opening cinematic, you need to pirate a crack for it to work. I do have a cracked version on my old computer but I think $2 is a reasonable price to pay for a legitimate crack and if/when they release the deeper dungeons I'll pay another $2 for that.

I think pirating something no longer available is no longer theft, I mean no one looses anything

It's not pirating to download/copy/distribute abandonware, however, many of the commonly known classics are still hoarded by their respective companies. It makes sense.
EDIT: lol, GoG has Carmageddon, but not Carmageddon 2

Broke down and got the Bullfrog one. Plus looking through their games found Lords of the Realm 1 and 2 for $3. Hells yea.
|
Hmm....They have arma 2: CO. Missed picking it on Steam, might bite the bullet here. Also, I'm oh so so so tempted to get the Bullfrog pack. Theme Hospital, Populous, and fking Dungeon Keeper!!!
|
Theme Hospital. I have been trying to get that shit for win 7 forever... Gonna deflate so many heads.
