So glad I decided to say "fuck it" to SC2 today to check out EVO instead. I remember splitting my time between EVO and MLG last year, but ultimately enjoying EVO more.

GO PRROG!!!

Good choice. Tomorrow will be even better with people finally unveiling all of the Marvel technology they've been hiding up their sleeves. And then there's finals day...

There wasn't much booing that I caught, outside of people booing Mago for beating Noah. :p Bu what you have to understand is people have their rooting interests for their friends and countrymen in the game, but when the tournbament shuts down for the day they all go out to eat together, and the locals frequently put the foreigners up in their homes. It's an intense kind of rivalry, but it's still friendly.

I'm new to this Scene? Gamerbee is better than Daigo?

Adon is better than Ryu, and that's about as far an advantage that Gamerbee got.

Yeah I did too... and I even like HSC. Player casters are the best imo. I would honestly rather EVO collide with MLG.

They're good, but they're not exactly dominating like they are in Starcraft by a long shot. Besides, they're waaaaaay better at Tekken. :p

They also have an advantage of playing with Japanese players over XBL or PSN unlike in SC2 where you have to train in Korea.

More importantly, they have an actual arcade scene where top players are all located in a relatively close distance so they can play together frequently. Japan is smaller than California, and 2/3 of its poulation occupies about a quarter of its land mass. Korea is smaller than that. It is way easier to get regular experience against top level players from just about anywhere in those countries compared to North America, where anybody not in California New York is at a disadvantage.

Not trying to pretend I'm an authority on the FGC, but "manner" is very different compared to the SC2 scene. I think the best way to think about it is as if you we're watching a pro-wrestling match to some extent (but not completely); people are gonna cheer on favorites, boo people who oppose them, but in the end (and this is where it'll differ from my analogy) still have respect for the game everyone brings to the table.

Oh hell no. Damdai all the way. Damdai has his T-Hawk to a science. It's absolutely amazing how much tech this guy over the years has developed and unleashed with T-Hawk.

So I got one response last time I asked, so I want to ask again. What do people think about the pase of Evo, with the constant availabiltiy of new matches and everything? I'm asking because this is what I'm used to, and I remember when fighters first got into MLG, the pacing damn near put me to sleep. I actually set a stopatch and there times betwen 25 and 42 minutes from the start of one set to the start of the next set. It makes me wonder if I personally find that so unacceptable because I' used to nonstop action, and what other people who are used to a more...leisurely pace think about it.

I haven't kept up with ST, but Damdai uses T-hawk and wins with him huh? Wow, 20 years later and new tech is found in an old game.

They were talking on stream about how over 25 years T-Hawk has gone from the very worst character to top 4. Crazy stuff.
