I miss Super Turbo Saturdays. I miss SEB.

Also, Sherry is taking her money match with Q FREE, and though they couldn't get a stream going, it's being recorded.

Me too =[ Seb owned. I was sad when he quit FADC, then I was happy when he created StillMashing and Super Turbo Saturdays, but it seems he's gone again... perhaps forever... =/

SF4 today was excellent. Some huuuuge upsets like Ricky going out relatively early as well as Tokido, and Jwong getting denied Top 16! Really glad Dogura made it as far as he did, was very impressed with his Bison at SBO quals. I'm a little disappointed that they went so far in the brackets today though, they started so early that I missed most of it haha. Can't wait to see what happens tomorrow.

Floe playing IWBTG was fantastic by the way. Awesome opening to the event.

Man, it's not even the case where U.S. caught up to Japan. EVERYONE caught up, especially Korea and China. Just looking at Top 32 is crazy, how evenly distributed the characters are (Most I could count are honestly 4 Ryu's, 3 of which are established Ryu OGs). I'd say the U.S. is just steps away from Japan, especially seeing only that Daigo is the only JPN player left, and U.S. has 2, though on the other hand Justin and Mike Ross could not get past JPN players whose characters are matchups they should know.) All of Japan in general showed up and made it out of pools and made a good presence, though some of the eliminations were JPN v. JPN. In summary probably the best AE tournament ever held. /BLOGPOST

EDIT: I lied, I think Eita is the only JPN player that didn't make it out of pools. lololol That's like 2011 EVO Mike Ross type of fraudulent. Even Chocoblanka got out of her pools...

JWong and Mike Ross both got into the Top 16. James Chen just doesn't know how to read brackets.

They only started doing brackets that way (Full Open to Top 8) just last year so that Sunday was "Championship/Finals Sunday." I honestly like it, b/c those who have that strong momentum run can potentially carry that to Finals. I'd also imagine those that have arcade backgrounds (like the Japanese, who are used to long sets) prefer it this way too as they'd be playing more anyway.

Is IWBTG just like a special one time thing? If it were released to the public, would be almost on the Battletoads level of amazing. Justin actually did make Top 16 (Mike Ross as well), that was just James Chen being misinformed, though I honestly was disappointed especially since he beat Kazunoko (twice in fact). That loss against Hsien Chang ended up putting him in the long and winding road that eventually put him up against Fuudo. If he won against Hsien, he would have ended up facing Daigo in Winner's Semis and we all know that is very winnable for Justin now.

Dogura did crazy stuff with EX Scissor Kicks he plays so tricky with Bison, props to him even though he eliminated Mike Ross.

The final level (1-4) IMMEDIATELY comes to mind. He finally drops the bridge and makes Sagat fall into the lava. Just as Floe's in the clear with the exit steps away, he gets Tiger Uppercutted from the ground. I would have thrown my stick Over 9000-Gootecks level.

Oh man, I fell a sleep when pool E was beginning. Amazing top 8 in SF IV. Good shit by Dieminion. I really hope that this shuts down all the haters/doubters of him, who can make such an (ass) character work at a high level.
Never would have thought that the only jap player left is Daigo. The beast is still alive and hungry, it seems.
Rooting for dieminion, rog and xiaohai in top 8.

Thanks man. Went to sleep a bit early (it was 3AM where I lived) so I missed everything since Page 30, time to catch up for the Top8 now!

Monokeros and Trumpet from our very own TL will be playing in their UMVC3 group later today, so I am going to take this opportunity to wish them luck!

I am also curious to see what we can find out about the Japanese player Kubo, the guy who has some technology("Kubo Escape?", something about making a character invulnerable for a short time by occupying a dead character's slot, thus wasting supers, xfactor time, etc.).

Oh yeah, he happens to be in your group, Trumpet. By the way, nice job in KoF, but honestly how did it feel to get Dakou in the second round lol.

Stop shouting USA. It's an individual game, ffs. USA is no longer the #1 country in the world.

Except for Marvel, USA is considered to be the underdog to Japan.

Dieminion and PR Rog doing so well versus the Japanese *is* a big deal.

Daigo and Federer to win their respective tournaments. I believe!

Daigo just needs to find practice for the other 7 players in top 8. If I was him, I would try playing Tokido/Eita Akuma, Kazunoko's Seth, Kindevu's Cammy and Uryo's Sakura all of today

Don't think there's many that can try to replicate Die, Rog and Gamerbee at their characters though

What are the results of ST so far? I was rooting for NKI, though anu Chun player qualifying is good in my book.
