When SF2 came over Stateside, localization team decided to rotate names of 3 of the bosses in the game for certain reasons (M. Bison is a reference to Mike Tyson, whom he's based on, Capcom USA didn't want legal issues, they also thought Vega wasn't badass enough of a name for Dictator.) Hence why Claw, Dictator, and Boxer are known by these 3 default names in community to prevent confusion. | ||

When the game was released outside of Japan, they switched the names around, presumably avoid legal action due to M. Bison being a pretty obvious Mike Tyson reference. They are still called the original names in Japan and most Asian countries, but the Western world knows them as Vega (claw), M. Bison (dictator) and Balrog (boxer). To avoid confusion, people commonly just call them claw, boxer, and dictator. | ||
