It's like the entire playerbase for the game, including the moderators, are a bunch of insecure twelve year olds =/ Thankfully that doesn't detract from the game too much (and in fact I would argue it improves the game since I will get more joy from killing immature racists than I would from slaughtering someone with intelligence) but it does reaffirm my belief that a self-sufficient TL town is the way to go. The less interaction with degenerates, the better -_- | ||

Basically it takes a lot longer to reach "endgame" (as a hermit at least) than in Haven, for various reasons. Foraging is also very important. And each character puts away an obscene amount of food  .The graphics probably aren't everyone's cup of tea; and the camera is pretty bad as well - and the devs seem horribly reluctant to do anything about it. Content is slowly being added, but at the moment apparently they are working on multi-server support mainly. The adding of important content is complicated greatly by the open pvp nature of the game; if you add something that makes it easier/harder to raid, the world instantly devolves into even more of a bloodbath than it already is. As for keys, if you search "Salem beta key" or something on google every now and then you should find keys sometimes, they seem to be giving them out to various sites relatively frequently now. | ||

First off, the client. It's horrible and the developers refuse to budge on it. Use of a third party client is a must, although anyone who's played HnH already knows this. Content is far from complete. There isn't nearly as much to do as in HnH and my personal expectations are that Salem offers more than HnH did. Graphics are much better than HnH are in my opinion. It's far easier to wander the world, although items are harder to spot on the ground (but that's where third party clients come in, anyway). The gameplay itself is hard to critique at the moment. I want to say it's slightly less enjoyable than HnH but I feel that's likely due to the lack of content. I will say that on the graphics... I was really, really turned off by them at first before I played. But after playing a few hours you get used to them and they're quite enjoyable from a gameplay perspective. From an aesthetic one... not so much. | ||

Eventually there will be travel between servers, but for now they are separated to allow new players to develop peacefully. open beta is expected to start ACTUALLY VERY SOON. | ||

That is done now, so we expect that frequent updates should resume. New beta keys should be being doled out soon, if you have signed up to the newsletter, and open beta is apparently going to start in about a month. I don't actually know if anyone else is playing, Serejai made a character but I never saw him online. After that I was involved in a little drama and ended up being killed by a superpower ( http://tumbleweed.sabinati.com/2012/11/03/synnvaerds-saga/ ), and so I lost my kin list, so no idea if he is playing still . Skarphedin, my current character, is alive and well on the plymouth server - I'm not really a "village" kindof person, but I like neighbours/friends in game, so if anyone wants to add me then pm me here for my homestead secret. I expect the game to get a lot more fun now that frequent updates have resumed - new stuff to play with and all | ||
