That's not the case for FaceIT from my experience, at least on EU. There, the level is more around Gold Nova to AK ranks usually. And there is no real matchmaking unless you pay premium. So if you're looking to try out 128 tick servers, feel free to give that a shot. CEVO and especially ESEA are a different beast though!

For NA, you can just hop onto ESEA once you hit DMG (doesn't help that esea pugs have silvers now cause all of those streamer giveaways...)

The players on faceit/cevo are a lot worse than the ones on esea, so you can easily try those for free if you're curious. For esea I would recommend at least dmg though.

I have never had a problem with hackers. I've been playing as a DMG on the official matchmaking for two years and I'd estimate that I've encountered less than a dozen hackers. I think people are just stupid and assume that everyone who kills them must be hacking. Trust me, I'm so shitty that if hacking was rampant then I'd be in silver.

Pretty much the exact stance I have on this, people just hate to be humbled and realize that they're inferior to other players. Obviously there's hackers out there, but at the rate that some people accuse others of hacking, about 75% of the playerbase is cheating.

There definitely are hackers around. The thing is, they're always really blatant. I have yet to find anyone who uses walls or a triggerbot subtly. If there's anyone smart enough doing that, they're not below DMG. Those are just smurfs.
