I thought with CSGO I wouldn't care so much about rank or winning/losing, but cooperating with headstrong people is just not enjoyable each and every time. Even if we win by a large margin, it's too exhausting to have to communicate with people who continue to do their own thing: regardless if it works or not.
It's pretty much like this in all games, so that on top of being terrible at shooters, leads me to not really want to play this game anymore. You guys are right in that you have to play with friends to get any sense of relief and cooperative/mutual communication.
Also probably has something to do with the fact that the game in its current state is not good. Its just too stressful playing this game, especially if you dedicate a lot of time to it, because anything can and will happen due to poor mechanics that are still not fixed. There just isn't as much of a reward for being better than someone else.
I'm curious, why do you think the game in it's current state isn't good? Other than the 64 tick servers, I don't really see how they could make the game a whole lot better (ok maybe change some wallbangs but I'm not entirely sure, don't have enough knowledge on that). To be honest, the game is surely a lot better than what it used to be. I also fail to understand which poor mechanics that could make anything happen, it's not like csgo had some RNG mechanics. If you have good communication within the team, good game sense, watch the minimap often and a good aim, nothing "random" will happen.
I think Torte problem is that he's stuck in lower ranks where most people are just retards and don't want to deal with it anymore. It's hard to improve as a player when you're stuck playing with idiots who don't want to cooperate. It can also affect your mental state where you stop caring about trying to win the game and you just get pissed off at nearly everything which normally leads to playing worst then what you usually do.
Sure playing with friends will make the game a whole lot more enjoyable but it doesn't mean you will win more often. Recently I started playing solo sometimes and I have to say, my experience was sometimes as equal or even better than when I play with friends (I was actually very surprised by this after reading posts here on how bad solo q can be). I've went from gold nova 3 back to MG1 again while playing a mix of solo q and with a stack of 1 to 3 friends. Sure it's not always like that and I might been have really lucky but solo q isn't always bad. IMO, when your stuck in lower ranks, you just need to focus on improving and stop caring about the rest. Once you start getting better, you will start winning more easily and you will probably start to carry games on your own. But yeah, if you can play with friends you will enjoy the game a lot more at lower ranks.
The mechanics in the game currently are terrible. The movement is way too fast, specifically the acceleration. People have been complaining since release about the movement being too fast, as it allows for too many accidental frags. It also makes it extremely hard to hold angles, which is almost never done in this game anymore. You now have to constantly jiggle peek an angle until you see someone, whereas in previous versions of cs you positioned yourself so that you have the advantage against anyone peeking into you. Now its just about who peeks who first, which makes this game extremely random. The movement also makes hitboxes terrible. Players that jump around are hard to hit, going up ladders makes your hitboxes go all over the place, sitting on ladders makes you unkillable. Wide peeking is overpowered while it was once considered the worst thing you could possibly do.
Another problem is weapons. Valve keeps buffing weapons like the scout, shotguns, and pistols. The cz75 is still incredibly overpowered, and even after the most recent IEM, valve still hasn't done much about it besides switch its inventory slot by making it $200 more. It still gives a free kill to anyone who knows how to use it, and on top of being ridiculous close range, you can effectively use it long range. The scout changes are completely fucking stupid. This isn't call of duty, its counter strike. You shouldn't be able to buy scouts on anti ecos and shoot people in mid air with 100% accuracy, that is a complete joke.
The game was slowly getting better, but its going the opposite way since the beginning of this year. Valve just ignores the major issues in this game currently. Csgo is nothing like what cs should be. Its more of a hybrid between cs and cod. You're very wrong about nothing random ever happening in this game. Mediocre teams take maps and series off teams they shouldn't beat extremely often. You can have good game sense and awareness and still die to people that run staring at the ground and don't know how to play properly because the mechanics of this game make it very random. The game could be good with a few fixes, but unfortunately it doesn't look like valve will implement them.
What you have to realize is the only reason csgo is as big as it is currently is because of skins and betting. It would not be anywhere near this big if valve didn't introduce skins because the game isn't good. The sad thing is that pros know that the game has many issues but they just play it because its big competitively. I'm glad that cs is finally big again, but at the same time I'm sad that it could be a pretty solid game with a few fixes, and after 2 years of waiting I no longer care for or play the game.
A lot of people say the game is good, even pros. While you may not like it, to say the game isn't good is false. Sounds exactly like the people who say "sc2 is a terrible game". Sorry to tell you, you may think so but it's not a terrible game. While skins/betting has increased activity I agree, I am sorry but if the game was truly that terrible then no that wouldn't save the game.

Curious as to what pros say the game is good. Unless its on stream during a big event, in which case obviously they won't speak out, but the ones I've talked to all agree that its pretty bad because of the things I mentioned. The game is just so incredibly inconsistent.
No offense but if you haven't played at a relatively high level then your opinion doesn't really matter. When people in gold said sc2 sucked no one took them seriously either. If you aren't aware of the issues with the mechanics of the game then how can you really say that the game is good? You should be rewarded for making proper plays, not wrong ones.
This is an old video but its still completely relevant in the current state of the game. They haven't fixed a single thing yet that he complains about in the video. Plays that everyone learned never to make because they were stupid are now extremely rewarding.

Don't play it then if you don't enjoy it. If anything it sounds like you are one of those headstrong people who cooperating with is not enjoyable each and every time. You are silver right? I bet you just scream at everyone to rush into B altogether as if that was the best tactic ever.

A question for you capped. You are playing cs go and are obsessively tabbing to check your score. If you overtake the person that was in 2nd place, what position are you in now?
I really enjoy the game that is CSGO. I am beginning to hate playing it. The community seems more or less ok, but the people I play with and against are the dumbest pieces of shit I've ever encountered in gaming.
how do i get out of silver? i could play CT alrite but for T i cant fucking get a hold of how AK works. I used to tap 1 shot at a time since 1.5 and now it always goes over the shoulder -_-... I end up using shotguns and rush/camp short path on every map whenever i play on T ... Help guys.

I completely agree 100% with your rant. I find myself jiggle peeking alot on CT side even with an awp simply because holding angles is a joke in this game. This mainly happens because valve doesn't really allow for community interaction nor input into the game. If they just had a beta client or a way for us players that would be nice because quite honestly, 95% of all the game fixes that you ranted on and that the 1.6 players want are just convar value changes but Valve won't change it...

I don't that's a very fair way to paint me at all. As I said, I don't think I'm going to anymore but there's no need to be condescending when I was voicing a bit of frustration (and others advice were very fair and considerate)

Pretty much. There's actually a server side command that greatly reduces peeker's advantage, but its impossible to use online because if you have over 80 ping you end up teleporting all over the place. ESEA used it for about a week over a year ago and the gameplay was noticeable, but they had to take it off because of the huge differences in pings in NA.

I agree with the rest of your post but I don't understand this. Why would wide peeking ever be good? Don't you just get shot at by multiple people and die instantly? Or do you mean with a knife or something so that you sure they're pushing a site?

Wide peeking is good because with how fast you move and accelerate in this game, if the person you are wide peeking is expecting you to shoulder peek, then they have to adjust to you as you slide out, whereas to you they are completely exposed and you have the advantage as long as your crosshair placement is good and you know where they are.
Its a very situational thing and obviously wide peeking is bad in a lot of scenarios, especially because it exposes you to multiple angles. Ideally you shouldn't ever wide peek, especially when clearing things, but if you're on an eco or trying to gay someone wide peeking will work more times than it should. If someone is holding an angle and you wide peek them, you have a huge advantage because they're aiming for a shoulder peek and aren't ready for you. Couple that with the fact that it literally looks like you're riding a skateboard in this game, wide peeking rewards people when it shouldn't. The player holding the angle should be the one with the advantage, not the player who doesn't know how to properly peek an angle. A good player will shoulder peek because it doesn't expose him to every possible angle, and isolates just 1 angle for him to clear, but with how many times wide peeking works, its definitely beneficial in some situations.
Think of when someone is holding an angle against an eco rush, and 3 guys just slide out wide against him, 9/10 times that person will only get 1 kill. It has to do with peeker's advantage and no tagging. Its also the reason why p90s are op in low levels because no one can hit people that just slide out spraying you at every angle.
