In my last 8 games I'm 5-1-2, which is pretty good since I've been playing with people higher ranked than me

Nuke was always interesting because it had complex wallshotting mechanics, before meta-game switched to short time duration, the whole foreplay was all about spamming the upper wall. Researching "hax" spots was pretty funny. i don't like most changes on CS GO maps, they are kinda limiting, thats why we see so low usage of AWP. They need to bring back long range spots on maps, it works both way gives ct a bigger range of tactics (offensive positioning) and terro can try to pick up CT one by one before entering if CT use daring tactics. Maybe everything changed since I last played 1.6, but isn't de_train one of the most imbalanced maps that's still played competitively? Like 10-5 CT:T scores on Train for T's were considered pretty decent the last time I played.. Even the last pro match I watched had T's on train just getting shit on over and over again. Personally always found Nuke to be my most favourite map to play T-side, even in spite of the difficulty. I always liked the subtle variances T-side strats have on that map, and definitely found it easier to play T than other maps like train, prodigy, cbble, or aztec (lulz easiest 15-0) Since you have to play 15 rounds on both sides, it balances out really. Doesn't matter if one side is too CT favored, the better team will win more T rounds. Unless the map is almost 15-0 100%. Look at NIP on train yesterday, for example. They started T and bagged 6 rounds np, then proceed to win 10 0 or 10 1 at CT, this was on quarters IIRC It doesn't exactly balance out because if you get t side first and lose 13-2 or 12-3 or something extreme then your ct side relies too heavily upon winning pistol round. Its not like every match goes to 30 rounds.
If you loose 13 2, and lost pistol on both sides you're kinda screwed, but if you're loosing pistol on a map that favored for your side you should loose. It's not like pistols are coin flips

Pistols are incredibly inconsistent in this game, so it isn't always your fault for losing a pistol round. No offense, but do you even play competitively?

I find the P250 to be the most consistent pistol. I've spent a considerable amount of personal time into learning it's recoil and inaccuracy fire rates and I can almost always score 1-2 kills in my comp games now. (After not getting any for almost an entire year I'm finally able to do some good now haha.)

Yeah I use P250 when I buy a pistol also, i find i'm more consistent with it

Will play a bit offline before starting to play online Or just play casual modes like demolition or gun games (on the play tab). These can be fun even if you don't know what you are doing. Well, I've watched some competitive CS, so it's not like I'm completely lost of what's happening.
The biggest challenge for me will to be adopting to a new kind of FPS. The last one I played was Sanctum 2, which is very different from CS

DM is great for aim but for actual mechanics and learning the maps, just join a casual game/server. No one really cares despite how much they'll complain in chat.

VG Inferno CT is just silly good.

Man VG are such monsters.

Animaniacs on the CS stream :D

Hey Valve, you need to publish another patch or force another maps to nerf forest - I mean NiP. Because all-Swedish final isn't the most interesting thing to observe.

Just picked this up today, had some European singing 'Titanium' over the mic then start shooting teammates, hopefully the community is slightly nicer than this

Great first seminfinal

so what's exactly in the dreamhack cases, anyone knows?

But well you can't avoid those in team games. Most of the time it goes well (aside from the random cursing when your team is losing).

This Hiko guy seems way better than his teammates.
What are the team roles on a CS team? There seems to be one sniper on each team (JW for Fnatic and sean for coL). Everyone else has a rifle? On the CT side, are there players who are always tasked with sitting in one bomb site or the other? And then two players playing in between for quick rotations?
|
Yeah, everyone has M4/AK in most cases. Best damage/accuracy/price ratio. AK is a 1 bullet kill to the head, M4 does 87 (?)with head armor, one hit kill without it
AWP/Autosnipers are mostly picked up for area control. But it depends on the team/players if they want to use one, or if they have a shitton of money they wont be able to spend in the half.
Everyone plays his AWP different though
