The item system allows for humongous variety of guns based on various component parts instead of just prefix/suffix only, though the names still have prefix/suffixes. There are rpg elements like questing and leveling and 3 skill trees for each class, and you have both hp and shields. The first Borderlands even had a nice tribute to D2 in that there was a boss enemy called Rakanishu that dropped a shield called the Cracked Sash xD (there was a rocket launcher based off ut redeemer too  ). A big part of fps for me is the guns, and Borderlands really delivers with those, there are a lot of different types of guns(they can have elemental properties too) and there are many unique guns with flavor texts and special attributes. | ||

I went with Siren in the first one but looking at the talent tree, Maya seems a lot more supportive and less ability to solo stuff | ||

How did you get the product key to preload on steam? I bought it last week and my internet is slow as hell and I don't want to be waiting on release day to play!Edit: checked my GMG account again today, guess I was looking for them too early. | ||

I bought mine off amazon, I like to have a solid copy of a game if I'm going to pay £25 for it. Pre-ordered as soon as it was available about 6 months ago. Still considering cryogenics or maybe a medically induced coma to get me to the 21st. | ||
