well , the way they phrase it in the description it appears to be multiplicative, if you go to a bank and deposit 1000 bucks with 5% gain each year , you wont have 1100 after 2 years but 1102.5

Actually, no. It clearly says +5% damage per stack, +6% crit damage per stack. It doesn't say "x 105%" per stack.

damage * (1,06*number of crits) like you suggest
or
damage * (1,06 * 1,06 * 1,06.....) like i suggest

Yes, but in the absence of evidence you have to rely on experience and common sense. Experience (i.e., past games) shows that it's probably additive. Common sense (i.e., your example calculation) shows that it's probably additive.

All of borderlands' other percent-based skills calculated from base. " +5%" also suggests this. Sorry, you really did lose that one.
At 999 consecutive criticals giving 5% each, you're looking at 50x original base damage. That's still pretty amusingly high. Of course, to get there, you've had to hit a thousand criticals. If it decays, it's not going to be outrageaous at all.

Even without this, if you skill Zero to a sniper, the damage output is huge

Have they mentioned if theres going to be a pre-load of the game? nothing pisses me off more, than coming home, and trying to dload the game, when theres like 1 million other people on steam at the same time, trying to get the game, since theres always problems at launch with that stuff. Hoping they let me pre-install like other games have done. regardless tho, cant Effing wait.

I didn't play the first one, but the game looks interesting. The problem is I have guild wars 2 that I'm playing now, re-release of Baldurs Gate coming out next week, Natural Selection 2 coming up and Torchlight 2, and that's just September releases that look interesting...

Can't wait til Tuesday! The fiance is going out of town til Wednesday evening and then works thurs, fri, and sat evenings - all Borderlands all the time with no bitching! :p
As a side note, I had to purchase on xbox cause a RL friend had already planned to get it on there - any other BL2 xbox guys or is mostly everyone on PC?
