so I am making an ice magic witch. at the moment I am going for the obvious ice magic damage buffs and a bit into the templar stuff to grab his elemental damage bonuses. But i am wondering if some more knowledgable people here could show me a good skill tree.
Also does critical chance also apply to spells or do only the skills that specifically are called spell critical chance?

Crit nodes, unless they specify what exactly they are for, are global.
So "15% increased Crit chance" works on everything. "45% increased crit chance WHILE WIELDING A STAFF" still actually works on everything (including spells) as long as you are wielding a staff. "30% increased crit chance with 2 handed weapons" only works for attacks made with that weapon though. Spell crit is obviously spell crit.
Very few of the "Cold damage" nodes and "elemental damage" nodes are better than just generic spell damage nodes usually 
I mean, you want a few but by and large grabbing "all the cold damage nodes" is just awful.

ok ,dl full game again linked to steam, now lost where to go buildwise. had a ci fp crit witch with support spear totem for control
iirc around 15k dps, good res ~7-8k es.
go fp again? (got 20% gem) or is there better stuff for a ci/crit sorc now? fp got nerfed in some way? guess i cant run my auras anymore?

My Evasion/Acrobatics Bow Scion is currently farming Piety Merciless and hasn't died yet, but tbh I'm always thinking about switching to Iron Reflexes... My Marauder has 4,9k hp and at a lot of points he almost died instantly without granite flasks (3,8k Armor with Determination and w/o Granite and like 18k with, or something).
My Scion only has 3,2k hp atm and there are so many oh shit moments which wouldn't even have been close with a lot of armor. Though for farming not-terribly-hard hitting monsters it's godly, I can just run into lots of the trash monsters in Lunaris without danger.That said, I also don't like that Cast on damage taken doesn't proc often.

crit chance boosts the crit chance on the base of your weapon. global crit is for both physical attacks and spell
Anyone have any thoughts on what I should do with the 69 unique map Acton's Nightmare on nemesis? not sure if I wanna sell it or just run it...

So basically auras are balanced and there isn't a statistically significant difference in running grace or determination ^_^
Determination is 51% more at level 20 though.
Also does it stack with molten shell? Coz I heard you can just use some imbalanced a fair and balanced CoDT + Molten Shell combo and just keep it on permanently.

Yeah, 40 was the prebuff number; and yes the armor from molten shell would benefit from determination.
updated. I can add a line with molten shell if you tell me how much armor level 20 molten shell gives and can somebody verify that 2016 is post patch grace? Verified.

Sooo...I'm at Gen. Gravy on Cruel and I don't seem to have the damage. Since I'm a trapper, my damage is rather bursty and his shield just regens. I'm going to level up a bit and try again.

Just use a throwaway spell to do damage to him (it doesn't matter how much) so the shield doesn't regen. Leveling up is unlikely to solve your problem.

Been out of the loop for a while, and got a lev. 69 ranger sitting around. When I left, BM LA+life on hit was all the rage (as were bowrauders). I think life on hit had just been nerfed (to not scale as well as with lmp/chain). I recall my build went hard into the left/bottom sides of the tree seeking out such things as health, elemental damage bonuses and passives like Blood Magic/Iron Grip.
Sorta lost as to what to do with my tree reset, though... How is LA now?

Overnerfed. Bow builds in general feel pretty weak as the game has shifted heavily into melee favored now instead of the ranged dominated game you played before.
Popular bow builds utilize Frenzy/Rain of Arrows for AoE or have a niche setup to utilize Explosive Arrow. Your gear is more likely to translate into a decent rain of arrows build as Explosive arrow requires specific unique items like Quill Rain.
You could also pull a complete 180 and try to play Spectral Throw since you get a full reset. You'd just need to buy a weapon (or use one you have laying around in stash) to get started and run a Scion through hillock for the gem.

That would have been a great tip, and I'd like to think I could have quite easily gotten it using my wand to poke him,....but I think rage speccing 30 dex so I could get up to 75% fire res helped more. :p
