If your connection isnt very good you desync a lot.It happens to me all the time.Game punishes people without perfect connection a lot.It is not my fault that my country doesnt have the best connection in the world and game punishes me for that.It is just bad coded game.I hope they fix it someday.

tried soloing Merciless Vaal on HC
rocks are fucking scary and ended up chickening out only doing a sliver of damage to Vaal
then read up on Vaal mechanics and practiced on Cruel Vaal
do a much better job at avoiding rocks now, but don't think I do it cleanly enough to still not be scared shitless against Merciless Vaal

I have never felt so bad playing a game in a long time.
Rolled a hc shadow, got to act 2 and joined a party to do a bandit quest; everyone but me and the host have voted and I notice the host is constantly re-setting traps ontop of the party members, including me.
I voted help and immediately the party host voted help and everyone on the party but me and him died. =/
I seriously should've probably considered telling everyone what was going on but it didn't even occur to me.
Do you think they should change it so people who vote "help" are just transported out of the fight area during the bandit quests? I shudder to think of the people who are in cruel/merciless HC doing this to people, a level 20 character takes very little time to remake but a cruel/merciless character would probably leave you with a sick feeling.

Well, I'd say that the devs made pk-ing possible for a reason, and removing people from the fight would be counter-intuitive in that sense. There's a couple ways to keep yourself safe during the bandit fights anyways.
- Try to vote last
- Keep an emergency portal up, and get out at the first sign of trouble
- Don't party with strangers on the bandit quest.

I once saw 3/6 people dieing in that spot. The guy who escaped made a portal in time and I went into his after the first "xyz has been slain". Tip I got afterwards:
a) Watch out for high levels, especially when they aren't chatty with someone in the party.
b) Watch out for weird traps.
c) Emergency portal.

In general most external programs are bad but:
a) we're not yet banning for them
b) that one seems pretty harmless
We're planning to add similar functionality to PoE itself. My advice would be not to run external software but I'd be surprised if that specific one was banned in the short term.
So use at your own risk but it's unlikely to be banned for.

ranger op. Not that I mind, always nice to join pub clearing parties that have like 5 rangers and me and let them clear the room/bosses offscreen.

Just did my bandits this morning, was a faceroll, not sure why i expected otherwise I guess. Stats wise I have about 800 less armor than you and 400hp but -30 chaos resist instead of -60.
Whats your dps like on frenzy? how long did it take to burn him? I do 3800dps with my elemental hit, i imagine id kill pretty quick but i dno

I'm so scared, this is all I have left to do. I have quite a bit more armor but about 400 less HP. I guess that should be similar in EHP? I'm not sure.
I really want to try this when I get home tonight, we will see if I chicken out.

On my latest char, bow marauder i screwed up the build and had no iron reflexes despite having evasion gear mostly. I went to vaal with 5% dmg reduction (with a party however), rocks hit me for a bit over 1.5k hp and that's about it, nothing to be scary of when you know his behavior. BTW. he can shoot two series of laser in merciless (haven't observed that in normal/cruel) so watch out!

I have 48% dmg reduction at 6100 armor, so maybe I'll be ok afterall.

6k armor gives you 50% reduction against a hit of 500. Vs a hit of 1500, it will only grant you ~25%, so the hit will still deal ~1125.

armor does less as the damage goes up so it is great against a lot of little hits. Kripp has a video explaining the math

for Vaal, I just had Anger and Evasion up so 1,076 Frenzy DPS. I didn't really use Frenzy to kill Vaal though.
It was a bunch of Fire Trap, Bear Trap, and Poison Arrow for Vaal and Lightning Arrow + Fire Trap (186 DPS) to kill mob spawns. The only time I really stood still to attempt to DPS was when Vaal was shooting out cold spots. Smaller DPS window was when I could see Vaal doing an arm transition.
