I figure since it's a junk email account, it ended up on some list somewhere that the hacker was privy to. Actually, the very first thing I thought was, "Wait, is my email address available in game?" So, just like always, if you have a decent-length password and it's not a word in the dictionary, it's not the same pass as on another site or game, and you don't share your info with anyone else, you're probably just fine. This is all assuming you don't have a virus, though :p

It's pretty obvious that someone isn't going to give away something for free, so those are fairly easy to spot. There's a few out there that can catch you if you're not aware of them. This one time I received an email, apparently from Amazon.com, which appeared to be an order confirmation for some expensive necklace or something which I of course had no memory of buying. Let me just say that it was a pretty good imitation of the typical email Amazon sends. My first worry was that my account had been compromised, so that I might have missed that the email itself was intended to get the info for my account. Gmail had flagged the email in my spam box, so I checked the plausible-looking link and found that it did not lead where it claimed. However, I idly wonder if I would have clicked through in confusion/worry if Gmail had not alerted me... I'd like to think I would have checked the url/verified that it was a secure connection straight to Amazon.com, but there's a nagging doubt. It could be that this sort of phishing is common in D3/WoW/etc., but it was the first time I'd encountered it directly... I'm not saying I'm a genius or above ever making a mistake, but I work in the IT industry and there's not even a chance I've fallen for a phishing scam, yet. I also do not have a virus on my computer. I don't browse the web except for sites I know and trust. They got me because my password was awful. How they got my username, I can't be sure. Just wanted to let people know they don't need to worry about it (I don't think) if they just take the typical precautions. Like I previously posted, they are working on an update that will lock your account upon a login attempt from a suspicious IP.

If it's any consolation then, you make me feel better that I'm not alone, hah. Man, being stolen from feels awful. It's like I walked in to see my bed all disheveled (ok, let's be honest, that's normal), then realizing someone had been in there looking for something. My items were all displaced and all my pricey orbs were gone. t.t

Surprised the guy didn't take gems of value and gear of value. Oh well, more stuff left for me I guess. At least I have stash space now, good thing I didn't buy stash pages.

No reason for me to lie about it, I want to discover the way they did it myself :/ I don't feel like logging in on any page, because I don't know how/when/where they got my data Sorry man. Even if they managed that, the database shouldn't do them any good as they should all be encrypted and worthless without the key to decode them.

Under the assumption that it is encrypted. Not saying anything or blaming anybody. It's not like poor security measures are uncommon, actually see stupid things in the news sometimes where companies/organizations store shit as plain text >.<'

Not sure if its working as intended, but I dont see why not? Also, since I got the minus ES cooldown nodes which gave me +EV% rating, I think I am going to hybrid it up as my frost witch and get all EV/ES gear. Is it every 100 EV = 1% chance to dodge? Evade % isn't constant throughout the game. The amount of evasion you'll need to achieve, say, a 50% evade rate on the character stat page will increase as the level of mobs increases. So you can't conclusively say that 100 EV = 1% chance to dodge or anything like that. Also bear in mind that some mobs have better accuracy than others, so the number shown on the stat page can be quite misleading. For example, you might have 50% evade against trash mobs, but against bosses, you might have something like 35%.

I haven't spent much currency on hybrid Ev/Es gear yet, so I can still take some advice if I should just focus on ES rather than hybrid
