I just traded my Elemental Proliferation for 20 random gems, including 3 quality gems (5%, 5%, and 12%) ..

I explained the guy how drastically off the trade was from being fair, but he said he didn't care becuase he had been trying to get this for so long. Lol.

Depending on what the 12quality gem actually is and if he gave you 17 other worthless gems or not he might actually have come out ahead there. Elemental Proliferation is drop only so it is actually quite valuable relative to other gems.

It was massively in my favor. I found a Chain, and a few other valueable gems in the 17. I didn't understand why he was doing it. I would have probably just done it heads up for the Chain.

just lost my HC Marauder lvl 31 in the docks to a DC. Sad Face. Was 1/2 health from a rare flame dog thing, so i walked into the next area, then bam, menu screen, and im in default, HC is brutal. Still love the game, and will keep on keepin on.

So I went ahead with my tanky sword/board duelist in HC and I'm enjoying it pretty well so far.

I just started act 2 and with a little twink gear from my brother I'm pretty much face-rolling the early stages of the game (I know it will get harder).

My question is if anyone knows how effective the shield mastery/shield block passives really are in this game. D3 style logic says the numbers they are posting are pretty dang good, but it is a different game so it may not be true. Has anyone actually used these or knows any solid information regarding whether these are effective points spent on mitigation? I imagine at least shield mastery gets good when you start using shields with resists, but again, I don't really know.

Any help would be appreciated.

Yes. The shield passives are good.
