I think the problem with doing any sort of historical ranking is that we can't get an accurate indicator of the relative skill levels at all. How are we supposed to compare Di Stefano (whom many of us have never seen play and also lack any sort of exposure to) to players like Beckenbauer, Zidane, and Yashin? Not to mention the fact that comparing a striker to a keeper also is never going to be very fair either.
In the end, you are always going to get a pretty arbitrary list that leaves certain players out. I have never seen a large majority of the players in the list ever play and I doubt that the raters have either.

I mean, how many people actually tune up to watch Bosnia play?
yeah... god damned I hate Portugal so much we always lose against them and with a million cards too -.-
nice site i found, very accurate in listing its rankings. great read for anyone interested
How is Cristiano Ronaldo not on that list?
The list is quite "meh" to be honest, I could tell who the top 10 was going to be before even reading the thing. I found it more interesting reading the ones from 100 to 50.
Also he forgot one of the most underrated players ever:
I mean come on, Maradona said that he was one of the best if not the best player around.
If he was born in some other country and if he played in madrid or barcelona he would be among the top players imo

Is it possible that they mixed up the C(areer) and I(nternational Career) points on the Full Top 100 list? I found some points in these two VERY strange..
tbh i just cant believe that list isnt formed almost exclusively by players from the 90's and on. i'd leave room for around 10 players from before the 90's and just because they are legends.
it was a different sport, it's really unfair to compare the players imo... they should kind of make it like in tennis, where there is some sort of separation with the 'open' and 'amateur' era
