the whole figo story did have more to it than a sore loser throwing objects at a rival player, though. but since i wouldn't want to seem like some hooligan, i'll just say that it probably was an ugly incident... a hilarious ugly incident, but still ugly.
still don't quite get what this has to do with today's events. of course there's always been rivalry between barcelona and madrid. that rivalry isn't even only about football, it's political.
nevertheless, i think mourinho has heated the whole thing up immensely since he arrived. and since madrid players, officials and a big part of the media pretty much jumped on his bandwagon... it seems to be getting out of hand.
i mean look at casillas, for example... i always respected this guy. he always had interesting stuff to say and was just a very calm and respectable person in general. now he rages into the microphones every chance he gets, talking about conspiracies by UEFA and whatnot to help barça, accusing barça players (yeah, those guys who pretty much won him a world cup) of unfair play etc. etc. mourinho has the whole city of madrid brainwashed, it's crazy.

Yea ofcourse that wasnt the whole of it.. but the fact of the matter is Barca if the fans embody the team (12th man and all) were the antagonists and it always sucked.. althouth barca never really did that badly in classico's (they didnt do to well either) it was always like Real were just a bit better headt to head and alottt better overall and people can feel it.. and it spilled..the whole heart sinking thing that you get..
ofcourse Mourinho is a factor and he hasnt done himself any favours the last few years either..I personally dislike him and I dont find his strategy to be particularly genius either..
most of last seasons games were like a modern more analystic brand of catenaccio... which he only operates when he feels like the team hes playing is better than his..
porto v man u.. porto v depo..
chelsea were just pound for pound big and so absurdly athletic and good to boot that worked best with them
and then ofcourse to the games last year after the whipping he got when he played more open..
they played well recently though and in the second leg of the CL, last yera

well, we could talk about madrid's historical greatness and, for example, how some political circumstances might have helped them to get there at certain moments in history... but yeah, i guess madrid beat barcelona in the 20th century.
i kinda forgot how we here... talking so much about the past... madrid fans usually like to talk about the past a lot more than we barça fans do. also, whenever i have this discussion in internet forums, madrid fans start showing up and it oftentimes gets too political and ugly. so i'll just leave it here and wish you guys a good night.

don't want to derail this bc most of what you said is true, but if it were victor valdes in goal for the world cup instead of casillas things would have gone far, far differently for the spanish national team

thats a matter of perspective aswel.. atleast if its the final your reffering to..
Mourinho brings siege mentality. If you think the whole world is against you (and honestly, when they play Barcelona they get nothing but crap) it can bring out the best (and worst) in your players.
Pepe plays that whole game excellently then he always gets a rush of blood that makes him do one stupid thing and suddenly he is a disgrace to the game. Pepe has been outstanding in defense in every classico, til near the end I guess.

I agree with this, other than a couple plays Pepe played very clean-solid defense today for the most part. Not sure about all recent classicos though...

theres the cyclical arguement again though.. the world is against them when they play Barcelona, other people will think they commit the crime and play the victim.. and you just keep rolling around..
Pepe is absurdly good, and thats really the only reason he gets away with his style of defending.. he has pace, hes big and strong and reads the game pretty decent to... But he is rash very rash in the sense tha the gets away with tackles he has no right to make, its just because he's so talented that he pulls of consistently tackles everyother person would be getting red carded cleanly because his timing is so solid. and even when he does get caught out he can cover it with pace. His distribution is a bit lacking but you that would practically make him a perfect defender...
As far as im concerned he would walk into any first team in the world..
the odd rash tackle against Barca comes around when ppl equally good at keeping the ball come up against his no holes barred I take the ball cuz I own you style.. atleast nowadays.. back in the day he was a nutjob..

next time the 2 play. I'm going to do a live commentary (if I remember) and I'll point out everytime a barcelona player dives or fakes injury. Actually I'll even do better I'll show you how classless they are when they run after the referee urging him to give a card. You know asking for a card is called unsportsmanlike conduct and is a yellow right?
Then I'll do the same with RM, I'll tell you when they go overboard with their fouling. I'll tell you when mourihno is a disgrace (almost always) and I'll tell you how RM are as classless as barcelona players.
Oh and so we're clear, the classicos are the most boring shit to watch in terms of footballing experience because of what i wrote. It's fucking annoying when every 2 seconds you have a guy rolling on the floor. Or when a player hits(fouls) another player in a very stupid (lacking words to describe it right now) way (aka like marcelo did at the end).
Everytime I watch it I tell myself i'm an idiot but I still watch it . I must be insane ... doing the same thing but expecting something different.
Yesterday's game was full of exciting, attacking football from both teams, what the fuck are you saying? You act as if the whole game was like the last 15 or so minutes when RM really started to foul alot and slow down the game. And as far as i know, i've watched every recent classico, yesterday's game had the least amount of diving and "running after the ref" as you claim... maybe you shouldn't watch the games anymore, you obviously don't know skillful football when you see it. And lol, i would never want to hear your commentary, especially when an awesome game slaps you in the face and all you can do is complain about how 'boring' it is and rehash past arbitrary claims that have nothing to do with what's going on. Sad you couldn't enjoy such an intense game with some great goals and skill. I'm 100% i'd out-commentate the shit out of you, because you have a weird, skewed view of football. You are unable to appreciate what was actually going on, and that was a ding bat battle of two sides that greatly wanna crush eachother and fighting tooth and nail for every possession. But nahhh, to you? To you, it's a boring charade of 'diving' .... and lol @ being a barca fan boy. I've said it before and i guess i'll have to say it again. I do not adhere to fanatacism. I like teams and i am up for changing my mind whenever. I'm not loyal to any specific team. (apparently, you are?) It's just that i love the way barcelona play, and they have the best and most humble players it seems,(messi, xavi, iniesta, and now fabregas) and are the greatest team in terms of skill and passing, which i love. Also doesn't help that RM is full of a bunch of twats, dirty players, babies AND divers. (mourihno, cr7, di maria, pepe, carvahlo, s.ramos, marcelo)
actually fouling people is normal... it's called a tactic... it slows the game down, there is nothing illegal about it even though it's a pain in the ass to deal with.
Wtf planet do you live on? Fouling is NOT normal, thus prohibited. Did you really need to be taught this Mr commentator?
Fouling is not prohibited. If you foul, a player gets a free kick, you won't get fined or anything. If you wanna stop a counter you foul and take your yellow etc. You wanna break up play you cynical foul. That's basic stuff.

You can argue that the game has evolved to which people will tactically foul eachother but most teams do not resort to that. This isn't basketball where you can make a tactical foul just by holding onto their waste. In football, you can seriously hurt someone, not to mention the fact that you can defend someone without having to foul them. Of course there will always be extra rough plays and innocent mis-timed tackles but your demeanor should never be to actually strike the player's leg or body. Every foul that is committed is assumed by the ref to be an 'accident' Like you said, that's why if fifa deems it cynical, then sometimes they get banned or fined. sometimes.
Wow i like how it's called "manipulation from TV of mourihno's aggression." Lol fail. Are there really people out there actively trying to lie and manipulate things to start controversy?

Are you sure about that though? Still , it"s not that I am trying to defend him or anything though..His cuntish behaviour has no excuses for a person with so much experience as a manager , plus his madrid play downright thuggish when against Barca.Good lord , i don"t want this man anywhere near United when SAF retires. However , Barca are no saints themselves , Sky diving fannies the lot of them.
Yeah, i'm positive, check it out: notice the black bald guy run past mourihno at 0:12
now watch the vid u posted, same exact shit happens. I just baffles me that people go to such great lengths to manipulate shit to try to make others look bad... i just don't get it.
