Daigo is terrifying. I knew he was good, but he made Tokido look completely free. COMPLETELY FREE. If he loses a set it's going to be a huge upset. He's got Poongko coming up sunday, but if someone takes him down I think it's going to be Latif out of the players remaining. Latif is the best Viper player, sorry Wolfkrone. Latif's heavy GG Eddy experience is so evident, he never misses anything. Marn had some sick jump cancel ultras from normal hit confirms, but Latif has that and everything else. Latif is the best player in the US, I don't even think it's close. Also, way to go Flash Metroid. I loved him from his vanilla C. Viper tutorial, really happy to see him making top 8. Top 32 was the most hype I've ever seen for any tournament ever. It was fucking amazing, sick matchups after sick matchups. Poongko's 53 hit combo was sick, the DR Ray putting so many people on blast, Flash Metroid being the Gief that made Top 8 (And beating the guy who took out Vangief to do it), Justin putting Mago in losers, god and so much more. Holy fuck it was sick I CAN'T WAIT UNTIL SUNDAY! But, the best match was easily Valle v. Daigo. So much history, and it looked like that was the only match that was even close[edit: the only match that Daigo had to actually try] for Daigo at all. I don't think Daigo respects anyone as much as he respects Valle, and it certainly makes for some incredible matches. | ||

MvC3 definitely had more tournament hype when it came out, but I'm pretty sure SSF4 was still more "popular" in terms of online players and tournament signups. | ||
