i bought a g27 steering wheel, any games you recommend?

I always loved GRID, but hated how the xbox controller loses steering angles at speed, so i fixed that problem (and also now i can go PRO in Euro Truck simulator).

Was between a flight stick and a wheel, but i think i enjoy racing games and sims more than those flight sims that also love to suck money from you.

Origin seems to be offering a 20% off promo code for any purchase, but otherwise I don't expect Inquisition to go on any kind of sale.

Well personally im a huge fan on Dirt 3, but im also a huge fan of rally racing. The game is a great mix of arcade and simulation imo, with some really great tracks, its a real rush going really fast around very tight roads where one mistake can send you flying off a mountain. If it goes on sale for sure pick it up!

Can't recommend NFS:Shift 2. The driving felt pretty shit in the original game, even with the community patch it's still not good (maybe it's now, it's been a while for me & I more of a sim guy). Try out RaceRoom Racing experience on steam to get an idea what a real simulation feels like, it's f2p in the most basic version. For other sims the first thing that comes to my mind is rFactor. On steam there is Assetto Corsa. A cool german site for rFactor (2) events is bockbierbude.de, they also have stuff going on for other sims, look at the left bar.

Edit: Maybe my opinion on Shift 2 is a little harsh, the game (when patched) definitely makes for an enjoyable single player experience. But expect some cars to feel a little bit off. For the casual fun stuff I can recommend the first Grid and Dirt 3, they are no sims but no arcade racers either, they are somewhere in between and feel good with a wheel iirc. The last F1 game from Codemasters I played (F1 2012) was ok too, had lots of fun racing it in leagues. Don't know how good the newest F1's are. Stay away from Grid 2, that game is completely arcade and you are better off with a controller there. Can't comment on Grid Autosport, it felt somewhat ok with a gamepad, haven't played it with a wheel. Oh and www.racedepartment.com for mods on certain games.
But does it djent?

I agree that Morrowind is the better game, but it hasnt aged very well, the combat is downright terrible (not that it was very good on Oblvion and Skyrim to be fair)... its still an amazing game, and when it was released it blew my mind

But that Oblivion is better than Skyrim ? i dont think so, if anything Oblivion is one of the weakest entries, its not a very good game at all imo. slugish, subpar story and the faces... oh the faces, i think of them i want to kill myself rofl

You're right in some respects, Oblivion has aged poorly, especially the 6 voice actors for thousands of NPCs and those faces/conversation pie. I do think Oblivion had the better story and more interesting dungeons than Morrowind, and the combat was much, much better. Morrowind is almost unplayable for someone who played Oblivion/Skyrim first given how poor the hit detection and combat animations are.

Basically, I wouldn't buy Oblivion or Morrowind now unless you're looking for a nostalgia trip, they've both aged so poorly that they'd be frustrating to play.

Just played through Ground Zeroes. In essence it's a big demo (surprise!), but it's a magnificent one. By far the best PC port I've played so far. Totally worth just to show Konami there's a market for MGS on the PC.

Both absolutely worth it. Valiant Hearts is a great example of a game that teaches about something and in this case, that something is one of the most interesting events in the history. Beautifully done, great story. The game itself isn't hard or anything, it's more of a emotional ride.

Wolf Among us on the other hand is still the best TellTale game there is in my opinion. Point and click game, just like The Walking Dead or the new Game of Thrones game. Based on Fables comic books. Great story, art and voice acting. Characters from the Fable universe to top that off. Absolutely loved it myself, even though i hadn't read a single comic book of Fables before playing the game. That said, it's welcoming to the universe if you are newcomer. Each episode (there are 5), lasts around 1-2,5 hours, depending on the player.

I'd pay the full price for these games, so 6 dollars is a no-brainer.

I enjoyed Wolf Among Us but it's not a point&click, your choices slightly change the story but it's more like watching a movie than playing a game. For this price, you should pick it, it's a very good game but it can be a little frustrating to start if you're looking for a point&click. Once I got through this little disillusion, it was a great game.

I assume you mean graphically, mods fix that. You can make Morrowind look like Oblivion and Oblivion like vanilla Skyrim pretty much.

Gameplay's still the best in Morrowind though.

Does anyone know why Neverwinter Nights isn't on steam anymore? Was really looking forward to picking up the complete pack with all expansions/dlcs and play it through again.

Crusader Kings 2 is a cruel mix of slow-pacing and addictive gameplay. The large scale map does not help either, especially in the Game of Thrones mod that shows the entire known world of ice and fire. The needless detailing and scope just make things laggy.

I got it for 75% off steam several days ago. I wouldn't recommend it to casual strategy game players. It felt like punishment to play the game after a few hours - too many heirs fighting over the inheritance, vassals betraying you and one another left and right, the need to keep track of your advisors, traitors, and the economy - it slowly sucks you in like quicksand.

Hi guys. I've played like 100+ hours of Skyrim and I liked it. Is Oblivion worth my money?

Oblivion will feel VERY dated compared to Skyrim; without the "old school charm" that older games sometimes have.

That being said Oblivion's quests are a lot better. I was hugely disappointed with the factional questlines in Skyrim. Oblivion's Dark Brotherhood storyline is almost infinitely superior to Skyrim's, Thieves Guild is better though more debatable, Arena is great fun and the Fighter and Mages Guilds are both pretty good and well structured.

Note that the levelling system in Oblivion is literally broken. Enemies scale to your level hardcore. In Skyrim it wasn't as crippling, you could tend to find a reasonable range of difficulty of enemies at different levels. In Oblivion if you level then you get to the point where random highwayman have full enchanted glass armour.

This is particularly noticeable in the storyline first game I ever played as soon as I was let off the leash I ran off and did loads of stuff. Then fifty to a hundred hours later or so I went back to the main quest, intending to complete it, and I got absolutely creamed by masses of Dremora, Daedroths and Atronachs on my very first Oblivion gate. I was wondering wtf because this was the ridiculously early in the main story...then I realised I'd screwed myself by overlevelling.

Worse is that if you level the WRONG THINGS you can ruin it for yourself by making it too hard to do anything. And you can totally break the system by putting inconsequential skills you can easily control the levelling of as your "major" skills (which will cause you to actually level) and max out the other skills to make you a level 1 invincible powerhouse.

In short: most people agree that the quests are better, but its aged badly and the levelling mechanics are broken.

If you DO get it then install Oscuro's Oblivion Overhaul which fixes a lot of issues (one thing it does is introduce maximum and minimum level caps for enemies, so its actually worth levelling to take on stronger foes and you don't get absurd stuff like Bandits in full Daedric armour). Its almost essential.

What do you guys think about the Wargame franchise?

edit: or wait for Panzer to go 80% off?

Wargame is excellent in my opinion. Hard to get into and complicated but excellent.

If you do get it: watch some guides, learn how to build an army deck, then play 10v10s to get used to it.

@domane: Yeah, CK2 is a brutal, brutal game. I've played games with harder difficulty curves and games that are even less approachable (hello Dwarf Fortress!) but CK2 is pretty much up there. But despite that it draws you in. And every time you screw up it forces you to learn more about the mechanics until you somewhat know what you're doing.

In Oblivion there are items that have physical damage reduction if the value reaches more than 100% you get no damage at all from normal hits. So it doesnt really matter that much how strong enemies are

So I have the opportunity to buy a total war game of my choice for a good price. Which one would you guys recommend/which one is the best?
I played Shogun (the first one) for quite some time, the second one seems to be a good game. However I'm not sure if I'm into the scenario. :/
Next game of the series I played was Rome it was a great game but a lot of people do not recommend Rome 2 because of bugs, the AI etc.
And then there is Empire, looks nice but is it good?

On TES: I think what hasn't aged well in those games is the controls. Morrowind is clunky as hell and I usually don't mind clunkyness all that much. But I think TES games are generally clunky when compared to games from the same era or even older games. Graphic really doesn't matter, I think Morrowind is beautiful and has an awesome atmossphere.

On NWN: Just buy it on gog when the next sales are on. DRM free, everything included. Sometimes there is a D&D sale on gog as well, so you might want to watch out for that.
