I'm creating this topic to try and gather people from tl.net to create a guild(s) for World Of Warcraft. I'm pretty sure everyone here has known of WoW for sometime but I'll give a brief overview for all the posters who've been living under a rock for the last 6 months.
-- World of Warcraft is a massively multiplayer online role playing game ( mmorpg for all you abbreviaton junkies ). The basic goal for almost any mmorpg, along with WoW, is to level a character in a massively huge world while interacting with thousands of players across the globe. WoW is based on the wacraft franchise if you haven't already guessed :o.

Now that you understand the basics behind the game you can make up your mind if you'll A ) play or B ) Won't. For all the people that do decide to invest some precious time into this wonderful game I'd suggest you post if you'd like to create and join a tl.net guild. This guild would also be on the PvP server, therefore you have to tell me whether your alliance or horde.
--- Beta comes out in about 4-5 days, so give it whirl and throw some feedback down for the others in this topic.
I myself would be joining the alliance guild. I'll be going Dwarven Warrior with Mining and Blacksmithing as my main proffesions, or in simpler terms Gimli. ~~

I've been playing the closed beta. It is a very fun, addictive and well-made game. Hopefully the Honor point system wont mess up pvp. I will definitely play the game when it comes out. I will join a guild consisting of friends.
I was a hulking, hairy chested drawf warrior with herbalism and alchemy as profession.
Why must the servers be down? WHHHYYYY?

It should be open on Monday night or Tuesday (in the USA). They shutdown the closed beta servers today to expand their capabilities for the stress test and open beta (early next week).

Well the idea is really cool, but wasn't WoW going to be local server based? (US residents can only join US servers, same for Europe and Asia). And TL has many members residing from many countries. I hope I'm wrong about this but I did read it in another thread 
Or is this beta going to be international? So that everyone can join any server?

I don't know whether they will block foriegn IPs from accessing the game servers (I doubt it), but the open beta is intended for North American users. There is a closed beta ongoing in Europe (and one soon to come for Asia).
I can add that I have a rl friend that was playing the USA closed beta from Australia, so I doubt they will block IPs in the upcoming open beta.
The tough part with organizing a clan this way is deciding Horde or Alliance, pvp or pve, and west, central or east server. And convincing them they want to join a guild with someone they never met

Im gonna play on US servers if they allow people from europe too but im already in a beta guild which is going to be recreated on retail.

The US closed beta ended yesterday, next is the stress test and maybe the open beta, but retail is very close in the US. So forming guilds for "beta" is silly since it won't be around for more than a month.

i'm playing the european closed beta, i dont play too much because we are 4 people sharing the same cd-key, but the game is really cool i'm really enjoying it despite normally i dont like MMORPG

saw the european beta on giga.tv in germany a couple of days ago. really nice impressions. like the characterdesign.

They will be banning all non north american ips that play on the north american servers, this is probally my and everyone elses biggest per peeve with WoW.

i didnt get into close NA beta, but got into the european one, and my bro has been playing it everday and it's absolutely fine. Despite me not living in europe of course :D

Im trying to get someone to from the US to sign me up for stress / open beta so i can play. If someone can get that done for me im gonna be playing. Alliance or Horde doesnt really matter to me, im gonna be either human or undead rouge. Talent points in herbalisem and coocking i guess.

I have been thinking about taking part in a MMORPG for a while now and have been waiting for World of Warcraft to arrive. I think it looks rather good. I will try and participate in the open beta.

I did the stress test, I LOVED the game. It was my first time playing a mmorpg, and it was great. I recommend it to any RPG fans

It has to do with legal issues and bandwith. I'm sure if they could setup beta servers for europe and asia they would. Games coming out soon anyways if you waited this long, you can wait another 2 weeks :O

IMO, WOW is an awsome game and will keep you entertained with hours to come from all the crazy quests involved in leveling.

but isnt a tlnet guild impossible anyway? for example an european player can only play on europe server, so there cant be an overallguild, only american tl guild, asian tl guild etc pp >-<

Now for some relevance....I recently rediscovered LUI and it is simply the best looking UI of all time...no exceptions!

Sweet UI idd, sad still that the game went too casual after wotlk :/ actually late TBC when kil'jaeden came there were so many easy ways to get decent gear for actually anykind of raids :/

That is a sweet looking UI, did it drop or raise your frame rates? ive had issues in the past with UI's changing my framerates.
Edit: Also do you have a link to that UI? wanna try it out

After a bit of searching, this appears to be the only active thread concerning ze world of warcraft, with the exception of the EU Guild thread, and so...
I was wondering if TL still has anything going on on any of the U.S. servers?
I've been wanting to renew my subscription for a while now, but all of my old mates that used to play have quit. Most of my characters are currently on Blackrock Horde, which is kind of a gross place to be (the city chats will drive you insane and the battleground que times are ridiculous.) I'm hoping to find a new place to call home, maybe with some TL dudes to hang out with.
I'm not really looking to do much in the way of pve, but I'd love to get back into arena also try the new rated battlegrounds. I was pretty hardcore back in wrath, I have 4 characters at or near max level (85 mage, 80 dk, 80 paladin, 81 druid) and a pretty good knowledge of the game as it was about 18 months ago (played rmp to like 2.2k, nothing incredible, but no slouch.) I'd be willing to play whatever was most useful for the group, but I sort of fancy the idea of starting a rogue from scratch.
Anyway, if anyone knows anything about any Team Liquidian efforts to take over Azeroth, please point me in the right direction!

I stopped playing this game a year or so ago, and I'm still trying to figure out why I played it so much to begin with...
Does anybody here still PvP and find it enjoyable? Does anybody attempt world PvP or shenanigens? How's the class balance? Blah?
I really think the only thing fun about this game was how unbelievably awesome it was to camp rooftops and fight off wave after wave of angry noobs. That, and running around in enemy cities with a small band of fellow nutjobs in an attempt to start shit.

I find it amusing when people ask things like this. 'Why I played this or that?', etc. Probably because it was fun, they played with friends or were just complete morons.
Well if it was fun for me why would I regret. If it was with friends why would I regret. If I'm a complete moron like I am... Well I would derpa-derp in other games or things, too.
Sometimes I get the feeling like gaming should be learned as part of a culture like drinking... But looking at how many succeeded on 'learning' drinking 'properly' and as part of one culture without drinking like, say animals... Yes. Fat chance.
No way I'm gonna rant about this longer now, though.
