The only file that you will be downloading is the 472.1MB patch. If you have the physical copy, it would appear as if it was downloading from origin but it isn't. It's actually installing the game from the CD. I proved this by ejecting the disc in the middle of the so-called "Download" then was asked to put the CD back in. You would also be prompted to put the disc 2.

ALOT and i mean ALOOOOOOOOOOT of people all accross the net are saying that its just downloading and when they take the disk out it continues. all of it is REALLY confusing atm. from the sounds of things. ORIGIN is like 1000% the reason things are fking up.

The whole point of a physical copy is to have the full retail game as it was burnt on a disk, on a freaking disk so you won't have to DL everytime you want to reinstall. I don't see the point of buying a physical copy of any game in the first place. It's like paying your bill the old fashioned way when you can just use internet banking instead. If your internet is actually so terrible you can't download 11 gigs (which apparently you don't even have to according to above poster, but he may be a liar so w/e) then soz but petition your government to get out of 1994 and set up some internet infrastructure since your actual online multiplayer game experience will probably suck with 64 players... :S??

It's a speed that's absolutely impossible to achieve here in our country. That's when I figured out it was just simply installing the game from the disc.

Gotta open up your world view man, Just because you get fast/nice things doesn't mean that everyone else always gets the same things. Stuff that you take for granted might be completely different in other countries. I am picking up the digital copy from the store on Thursday. Hope that the servers are fixed by then

However, the only reason I posted earlier that the download was 2-3 gigs was because my full install was 15.5 gigs and only ~12 seemed to come off the disc. But, yes, I can confirm that by far the largest chunk comes off the two retail discs despite Origin saying "downloading."

I could be wrong, but I think the settings auto-configure to match the capabilities of your graphics card (most do these days). So the answer to your question depends on what your card can handle. For instance, I have a shiney new top-of-the-line card, so I expect the default settings to be set to the highest graphics setting. Worst comes to worst, you can set things to max manually, and see how the game runs for you...

In Singleplayer, it's sometimes impossible to see anywhere because of all the glows and whatnot. Bullshit if you ask me. At least should let us change everything if you want to, but no.

Thats nothing, you can't compare the degrading of battlenet from wc3 to sc2. Also is it normal that I'm still downloading bf3 from the internet when its at 1.8GB of 11.4GB already?
