Yeah, I have a branch mine going, its remarkably small. I was just commenting because people were bragging about it. Ive only found a few deposits in single player thus far :/ If you dig down to just above bedrock (about level 5) and then dig a branch mine (a branch coming off of a shaft every 2 or 3 blocks) you can find diamond quite efficiently. It is only present in the bottom (16?) layers of the map. | ||

for finding diamond i use a combination of searching caves at the right depth and digging with maximum efficiency in the diamond layer. this is the detailed explanation of how i mine... the searching caves in addition is by experience, i guess. | ||

I dig straight down in a 3x3 grid until I hit bedrock then I branch mine. lol is that good? I hit a cave in mine, searched it, found like 10 diamond then i kept going down lol | ||

You didn't keep a backup of the server  ?I expected you to have kept a backup of the world file... if you have to regen that would suck, at least let some of us help you rebuild the spawn area... EDIT: error returned to "Connection refused: connect" instead of just the logging in screen. | ||
