Posting in a thread without reading and understanding the OP is already a warnable offense, and I would think approaching other posts would be held to a similar standard. I don't see why the onus is on Judicator to clarify when, IMO the question was very clear as worded.

There was literally nothing in his post remotely implying the counterspell was pointed at the Golem on the stack. The only way you could possibly misinterpret it is if you chose to read "I am curious about counterspells with Precursor Golem" and not the rest of his post.

Or I can baiting people with egos who couldn't possibly be wrong into making themselves into looking like clowns. The fact you went on a little rant about how experienced and qualified you were over a simple mistake (on your part) shows that you are the "snotty" person since you took offense to a "Read more carefully".

And why would I clarify an otherwise clear post? If you didn't understand, you could have asked too, but no, you were the 2nd person who insisted on assuming a question's content and completely missed the mark. You didn't misread a post, you never read it in the first place, because if you did, you wouldn't have kept coming at me with your responses AFTER I already thanked Yango for the correct rulings. So you never read the damn post until someone pointed out exactly what I was asking in the first place.

I'd absolutely say you baited... but I'm sorry I even continued this, you can find excuses to be snide to people all you want. I won't go any further with the argument.

I've never used Lackey, and the only time I've heard people using it is because they are Mac users, if you like it and it has a community then continue using it, otherwise check out Magic Workstation if your looking for a free way to play, there should still be people on MWS, I haven't played on there for awhile, I use it to test a deck if the latest set isnt out on MOnline yet

Tip, if you want to be sorry about continuing something, don't include your own snide remarks in your "apology" post. Now that's behind us...

There are people still on MWS, lot's of them. To avoid the assholes and self-righteous "I would have won if I drew X" players, avoid anyone with Player for a name, avoid anyone asking to play fast.

Also, does anyone who play on MWS suffer the random Player Lost problems?

Just to clear this up, my friend seems to be of the belief that Mana leak works on planeswalker abilities which we didn't really agree with seeing as they're abilities but hes also trying to claim that if he mana leaks a neg token ability that it counters that and also loses the tokens, is any of this correct?

just a warning having seen the mtg salvation link, salvation is not like TL, Salvation is a good resource to use but a majority of people on Salvation are not the best at magic/not very smart, unlink in starcraft if you are bad it is much harder to tell as you can always blame it on luck. Don't go to salvation and expect top tier decks maybe top tier deck shells but that is not were I would get my deck list.

A planeswalker ability is an activated ability. Mana leak counters spells, not activated abilities. A card like stifle or voidslime would counter a planeswalker ability.

www.magic-league.com is a good site for playing, it hosts small tournaments that you can join, it's mostly IRC based, they use magic workstation. Additionally, about once every day they host a larger tournament of about 32-64 people for whatever format it is that day (mostly standard and extended). The winning decks from these are posted on the site, you can grab some moderately decent decks from there.

It wouldn't be too bad if it didn't take like 50 attempts to actually join a game. Also there are lots of people who use glitches to desync the game if they're losing.

the planeswalker game just isn't my cup of tea, it removes deck building completely, which is my number one draw to magic, the creative part of it, and then it goes ahead and makes it pretty uncompetitive as well(from what Ive seen of it), tack on long slow turns and the game is pretty meh... The one rewarding thing I found from the game was doing the challenges or puzzles, even though they weren't hard, there was one or two that had a nice solution

I just don't think there has ever been a go to forum for competitive magic players, at least in my experience. No top players in the community participate in forums, they just talk to their team mates etc.. I mean.. i guess Starcity might have the most reasonable forums, with the best deck discussions etc, but they are no where near as active as they used to be. Channel fireball is a decent site, but as far as I can tell has horrible forums... pretty much every other forum or site is pretty irrelevant, I don't use forums for deck ideas anymore, I just use the tournament results from daily/premier magic online events

TheManaDrain.com has a decent community, but it's basically vintage exclusive (and thus derives a lot of the good community from the inherent high barrier of entry into the format).

One of the threads from Pojo (insert lol variants here) was overrated cards by some scrub and the list was something like.....Tarmogoyf, Thoughtseize, and.....Force of Will.

Apparently the FoW reasoning was lulz-card-disadvantage.

all the pro magic players have their own forum that is very secretive. also starcity games forum seems pretty meh, I mean vampires as a "deck to beat" for standard, I know I know it exists but Id rather play WW Quest then vampires.

At least that's a semi-thought out reasoning that only fails based on the fact that the format is filled with game-winning threats, or cards that are worth way more than -1 card that you HAVE to answer. There are way too many people in the Magic community that don't even understand what card advantage is or what it does for you.

Personally, I just think there's not enough effort on the part of many writers to teach the basic theory of the game. I've read Patrick Chapin's book, and it's a shame that such Liquipedia level stuff has to be locked away in a book with a price tag on it. People just need to get exposed to the basic concepts of card advantage, tempo, game-flow, etc. in order to get to thinking about this game in the right way.
