If you can teach cut to Vaporeon or Lapras, they can be your water HM slave. Or even strength they are easily taught to quite a few types. I believe Ferret can learn Surf iirc, maybe as well as waterfall/whirlpool.

I think I have both, so I'll teach them at least surf, not sure about what I'll do with day9.

For some GameBoy sound go to Celadon City and go into the Celadon Condominiums (the building next to the Pokemon center). Go into the elevator and go to the 3rd floor. As soon as you walk out, you'll be informed of the GameBoy Sounds. After that, talk to the man next to the globe -- if you have Collected all of Kanto's badges, he'll give you the GameBoy Sounds device.

I wish I had an opinion on this, but sadly, I have no memory of which move it is hah.

I say Steve, Bisu or Flash though. Others are more and less expendable and TLO is a copycat not a learner
