Looks like Dabu and Sonic are on the same stage right now. Snow is a couple of stages behind them.

(This romhack looks REALLY well done, btw.  It's got enemies from SMB3, SMW, and SMW2 Yoshi's Island... and the chains from SMB2 apparently.)Edit: Sonic died near the end of stage 4. Snow died as well on whatever stage he's on. And Dabu fell off the SMB2 chains and died. | ||

Sonic cleared stage 4 and started the 1st castle. Now they've all paused trying to find out what happened to Dabu. | ||

Dabu has maybe a 30 second lead on Sonic at the moment. Edit: Dabu and Sonic both clear stage 3! Dabu loses his small lead due to mucking around with savestates or something. | ||
