And the majority of the players bayern fielded didn't play for germany in world cup or are even german, which makes the statement even more confusing.

Of the combined 22 starters of last year's Champions League final and yesterday's game for Inter, only one was Italian. So there isn't much point in discussing the success of the Italian or German national teams in this context.

I guess he thinks of L'equipe Tricolor, lol.

I didn't and never intended to, it's pointless.

Tonight.... it's about to go down (^_^) Chelsea - Copenhagen
Might aswell call gg - but I guess in football everything is possible.

Random question: When I go onto UEFA.com it actually calls Copenhagen by the danish name FC København... Do you guys see the danish name? (I mean on TV and such - I realize the interwebz is the same no matter where you're from)

I guess what you mean is the overlays at the TV broadcast, and if i'm not mistaken, its the english name there (Copenhagen, Munich), because they are done by one single production company and not by every TV station isolated.

Anyone else finds it funny that despite the controversial decisions the referee made in the Barcelona vs Seville match, Barcelona's coach Guardiola didn't say anything about the referee, while if the same happened to Real Madrid, Mourinho would be whining all over the place?

I really can't wait for the Spanish Cup final and the Classico in "La liga" :D

What does he have to cry about?, he inherited one of the best teams of all time, and his reputation as a manager will be propped up by this for years to come, im sure hes anything but crying.

Sir Alex got banned FIVE (?!) games for complaining about the officiating after United's loss at Stamford Bridge. Key games missed will include the FA Cup semis vs City and likely the key game at Arsenal in May.

What a fucking disgrace. Managers whine all the time and nothing happens, if they want to make a point ban him a game or two, don't practically give away the season.

He actually got banned for 3 games. The other 2 games were from a previous misconduct and would be activated if he complained abot referees again.

His comments were out of order..

Maybe because Barca whining about referee decisions would be kind of...well...ironic?

The ban is useless. He can sit in the stands and communicate with an assistant and still give the half time team talk. It won't affect them much at all, unless whining to the 4th official all the time helps

id have banned him for longer. the audacity of the retard, he is constantly getting absurd decisions his way, and still he throws hissy fits after he loses/gets 1 or 2 bad decisions. things like boycotting media for a week after getting raped by liverpool is plain embarrassing.

Taggart ban perfectly fair given most of it was suspended. Also it's hilarious given the comments were to the same ref that gifted them the points in the 4-3 City game

No it wouldn't. Barça has been suffering a lot of unfairness with referees most of all concerning death penalties in La Liga. If you only watch Champions League is your problem, but because you have seen ONE match with what you could call "favorable referee" (I'll save my opinion to me) doesn't mean it happens all the time.

Poor Abidal, hope they get the whole tumor in his operation and he can start doing a normal life again. Now that he was becoming indisputable in Barça.
And then do you know what happens all of a sudden? Trumpets!!

it's hardly giving away the season and if he wins the league/cup double this season with that team it's his best yet.

What punishment does the ref get, Chelsea fans would take him every game of the season!

I think his refusal to give post match interviews for almost 7 years to the BBC is cute, no idea whether it's justified

these bans are usually appealed and then reduced

It had nothing to do with the Liverpool result, they decided to not give interviews before the match.
Why should the organisation that runs the league also get to run the refereeing? They're protecting their own interest.
Comparing PL refereeing to NFL refereeing and it's not even close. I don't see why Managers and teams should just let it go on it's pathetic. If every team went on strike maybe they'd stop fucking around and fix refereeing.
We need accountable referees and video replays just like in every other sport.

Ferguson doesn't talk to the BBC cause they badmouthed his son. Something like that, he didn't like what the BBC said about his son
