I bought an SSD purely for D3/OS. I bought a new $400 computer chair just for D3. I've taken Tuesday/Wed/Thurs/Friday off work for D3. I've stocked up on quick and healthy food/snacks to ensure there is no time wastage on preparing/buying food during the week. I've thought out my wizard build countless times for almost maximum damage until inferno, where it switches to 50% defence/damage. ![]()

So the more casual player base is expected to have enough fun and challange until Hell (if they reach it). If they want more they can get it. But they don't need to do it. Blizzard has made a game with several degrees of difficulty. There something for EVERYBODY. From the newbie to the casual and to the hardcore. HF I bet it's beaten in 2 weeks. Pretty much this. There are going to be people at the top who are willing to shell out tens or hundreds, possibly even thousands of dollars for that unique XXX off of that boss so they can rush through hell/inferno. With the number of people playing, some people are going to get that 1/10000 drop and just put them on the RMAH. If you want to finish the game as fast as you can, irrespective of money concerns, then that's going to be the way to do it.

There's also going to be a lot of teams that are racing to be the ones to first beat inferno, and will be switching off when another is asleep so they play 24/7. They'll have it theorycrafted out before release, and one of those teams will get there really really fast. This happened for Diablo II ladder resets of all things, so it's definitely going to be happening for a full new game release.

HF I bet it's beaten in 2 weeks. I could see it being beaten in two weeks if they play quite a bit. For example 12-15 hours a day getting to Hell and farming gear for a few days. Have a buddy system in place to trade gear to. Then they will have to gear up from each act in inferno to go to the next act due to higher tiers being in each act being increasingly harder. Now if they have that in place then yes it probably will. Though as Jay Wilson has stated even with the best gear it is going to be quite challenging. Also I do think they have something else after Act IV Inferno difficulty that maybe even harder. They keep saying there is a secret and the secret maybe not something for difficulty.
