I've already managed to gain support through the D3 Community Fanpage on Facebook, Xsplit is providing support and prizes for the event, MonsterCat Media has permitted me to use their music during the stream and will be linking the stream out to their affiliates and social media. I'm still hard at work at getting more businesses on board and pushing the event as far out there as I can. Their will be a donation system set up for www.justgiving.com/hzrd, through the stream, as this event is being held to support the Sophie Lancaster Foundation in the UK, one of the largest Anti-Bullying foundations in the world. All of the donations go directly to them and will be helping an excellant cause. If you would like to be in the mailing group to recieve updates or if you just want to see what's going on and be kept in the loop for when the stream goes live, you can like Hzrd on facebook or email hzrdtv@gmail.com for more info. Just be safe man, remember to drink water, eat and walk around once a while, dont want you dying on us! GL

So I just preordered. I've got a couple questions to the dudes who've done beta:
In D2 when you started a new char, if you didn't have a specific end build in mind, you could really screw it up by speccing skills and attributes wrong. Are there any decisions I have to make starting out brand new that could wreck my char late game?
Worth it to pick up everything and forge for crafting mats?

You can change skills and runes at anytime and there are no stat points to allocate so no you can't fuck anything up.
Crafting takes a lot of gold and I don't see why there's not a reason to pick up everything when you have free town portals?

In beta great majority of items was not worth picking, coz the sell value of non magic items was just sad. It was something like 5-50 gold per item -.- where 10 was like average. It's great that you can see sell value of every item anytime so you will know which one are worth picking. Magic items on the other hand are always worth picking coz of salvage (you can't salvage non magic items). Every salvaged magic item will give you materials for crafting new ones. In beta your gold "income" was based mostly from gold dropped out from monsters.

Yeah judging by the beta, the normal items isn't worth picking up at all. You are much better off just farming another area for gold drops instead. I started the beta picking up everything but it soon seemed pretty futile when you basically got nothing for it. Magic items as you point out is another matter if you are into crafting.

Played Beta a lot!
IMHO for every white item drop there have been at least 2 or 3 gold drops
say a superior white item sells for 8 to 12 gold (range) and the gold drops are average 55 gold.
Will you really take that trouble of picking up the white item, (click) return to town, walk to a vendor and sell those white items? No thank you. i'd rather walk on and kill a normal mob whichs drops gold worth 8x that white item.
it's not worth imho

Actually, I think every skill does. So he isn't directly attacking with the weapon, but it is important.

So once you hit Hell, it could be worth it to start picking up white stuff too, of course, it depends on how much gold drops scale, if the sell cap is something like 10-20% of an average gold drop in Hell/Inferno, then obviously it won't be worth the time and trouble to tp back to town.

Actually, I found it was worth picking up almost everything for the first 4 to 5 levels. The reason is that you will be forced to go back to town due to the quests before your bag fills up anyway. It's worth the 3 second trip to the merchant and you will have hardly any cash at first so every bit can help with maybe buying a blue to fill an empty slot or something.
Just watch how much you are making from selling white items so you know when it doesn't feel worth it to you.

All whites I picked up sold for 2-3 gold, even if I had an infinite amount of them in my backpack it wouldn't be worth it to go selling them at the shop compared to going out and killing monsters. Unless there is a quick "sell all white" button.

I was wondering this too and it does infact make a difference, I dont just think so. I pulled up my character info page while I equipped and unequipped weapons to my monk and even though he still hit with his hands, his damage output always increased on the character sheet when I had a weapon equipped.
