It's over, bro. i didn't know it was bad to try hard. I'll think about that next time. I appreciate when players play hard until the end of the game even when it is 99% over. Does anyone remember when Reggie had 8 points in 11 seconds? Gotta play 'till the whistle! This just in: BIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIG BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAABYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY

Please don't turn the thread into this again, before and after the flamewar I saw some actual discussion going on!
My dad was quoted in my local newspaper saying that the Celtics bench would be the deciding factor in the series. I didn't know how right he would be! Every time Lil Nate or Big Baby comes in they seem to elevate the level of play so much. I wonder if there is a way that Doc could get away with having Rondo and Nate in the same lineup defensively...

What just happened in this thread? Actually, it's about time there was some regulation for respectable posting.
The Celtics in the 4th were poking at balls, diving for loose balls, that's showing a strong desire to win which has been missing all season. That lack of desire is exactly why they were so unlikeable during the season. If Red were alive, he'd be kicking their asses for being so soft. The Lakers bench gets hot when it goes for layups, but you never see it chasing those loose balls.
Even in the playoffs, Celtics players seem to have no consistency between games. Virtually anything can happen.
Ray Allen, except for poking the ball away from Gasol, has not been going for rebounds. He's a likable guy, he's playing decent one on one defense, but there's been a few long rebounds each chance he could have scrambled for.
Somehow Davis is scoring on Odom one on one at will. Gasol's giving the ball up to easily to Kobe, and it's weakening the offense. He's been getting a lot of quality shots when he's not being crowded/fouled.
Has KG been on cortisone the last few days? Game 3 he kept getting around Gasol, and predictably Jackson/Gasol adjusted to prevent that, but he's still been getting some shots.
Artest stopping Pierce has been an overrated story. Pierce is missing because he's driving into like 3 people and hoping for a foul, and unlike 2008 he can't make the 3 point play. Pierce has been getting past Artest, getting separation on jump shots, and so on.

Apparently I missed all the fun by actually watching the game last night. Gee whiz.

Big baby big baby. How this weird-ass mofo always surprises me. Seriously, was anyone thinking he'd be the key guy this game? Great game by him. Well played. Good for him.
Kobe is Kobe. Just too good. Still seems ball-hoggy, but it's understandable. He good. I'd like to see more from his teammates.
Both Allens defended Kobe very well. Ray Allen needs to make shots. You would thinking sucking Game 3 would influence him to do better Game 4. KG and Pierce have been ok/decent, but that ain't gonna cut it. Expecting bigger things from these two. Bench ain't always gonna be there to beast it up when you guys are just ok or decent. Nate and Rajon, great point guards, what else to say.
Also noting that Lakers so far have lost to weird things, can even call them anomalies. Ray Allen being godly for Game 2 and then bench owning them Game 4, similar to how the Suns' bench did a number on the Lakers in Game 4.
Cheers, hoping for 4-3 series.

I just wish he'd stop doing dumb shit on the offensive side and leave that to Rondo. Cause when Rondo does dumb shit it actually works and it looks like he meant it.

oh yeah series tied yo! bynum's knee isn't helping the lakers' cause either. he wasn't able to help them in 2008 and he won't be able to help them now. something tells me this is destiny

anyone else care to agree that danny ainge made the correct move in Robinson for House?!
Robinson is a winner, eddie house just happened to win ~~

I forgot how many 2nd chance points the Celtics had in game 4, but holy shit Lakers, get the offensive boards if you want to win this series.

With Bynum out Pau Gasol doesn't have enough help down low to grab them all. Sucks but shit happens.

It was a great move, but more just because Nate is a more talented player. House is and always was just a one-dimensional gunner. Too small to play SG, no PG skills, not very quick or athletic, and was only as effective as he was in BOS because he had the Big 3 getting him easy looks.
Nate, on the other hand, is very athetlic, quick and strong, and has a much more well-rounded skill set. While he suffers from the same problem in that he's basically a SG but too small, his ball-handling and all-around scoring ability is far superior. He's also a much more tenacious defender, and is strong enough to make up for his lack of size/height to some degree.
However, I don't know that I'd call Nate a "winner". He's a talented role player who happened to land in a great situation. BOS is in dire need of a backup PG and scoring, and Nate fit the bill. They don't necessarily need a true PG because their offense is based off of the Big 3 anyway, whether they're all on the court at the same time or not. Nate's job is just to give BOS what House did, a scoring punch off the bench, and he did that job admirably last night. But let's not forget that he's a basket case who obviously thinks he's better than he is, and who has limitations/weaknesses that necessitate him being in very particular situations to be effective. He's only scored double-figures three times in the playoffs, and didn't exactly blow the roof off with his best performance to date (last night) at 12/2/2/1.
Fisher = Winner. Nate = solid role player with issues who has only just contributed to a game with any real meaning. To be fair, you were comparing Nate to House, and he's clearly a substantially better player and "winner" than him.
