He had most assists for Germany, and with most attacks going over the right side, with Müller sitting there who is never driving any attack, it is all on Kimmich. You could easily put Kimmich as RW and then place some real right back behind him. Then he could do his thing and the back 4 would finally have 4 players... | ||

E.g. marcelo does similarly for real madrid and then the central midtfielders are supposed to cover that. I think the issue for Germany is that they haven't really adapted well to that strategy. Noone is covering each other very well and everyone is gambling hugely on trying to get tackles/winning the ball asap. | ||
