I'm worried that he may retire or something. I hope not though he just needs to change his style. This one build fits all is not working anymore.

Wow, I'm basically speechless. We all know he is a bit of slump but boy can't even make out GSL Ro32 twice on a row. This is whole new level of slump for Zest who is 2-times GSL champions. I'm worried that he may retire or something. I hope not though he just needs to change his style. This one build fits all is not working anymore. While it's depressing that Zest is out again, retirement is probably not on the table right now. Form comes and goes. I mean look at INnoVation, the guy spent all of 2016 playing League/neglecting Starcraft, and now he's the best Terran (again). If Zest keeps at it, he'll make a comeback sooner or later.

Well, I don't think he will retire right now but this doesn't look good. GSL is main and long event and now he is out. What is he gonna do? He is gonna get kicked out SSL Premier soon as well given he is second last. Need to get some competitions going you know. He is basically out of BlizzCon as well. I doubt he will win GSL Season 3. If he gets into Ro16 next season, that is already an improvement. Innovation's case was a bit different. At least, Proleague was still around so he had something to play. He was still in a team as well. Again, Zest is still Zest. He can beat anyone if he is in form. He just needs to stop being so boring with his style. Go crazy and unpredictable a bit. Also, he needs to improve his control. He made so many silly mistakes in games.

This is not Zest's all-time low.

Well, I acknowledge your point but the comparison is a bit pale here given how many events SC2 had back in 2015: http://wiki.teamliquid.net/starcraft2/2015_StarCraft_II_World_Championship_Series Zest didn't qualify for 2 GSL seasons but he won IEM Championships in 2015. This year 2017 has 3 GSL, 2 SSL, 2 Super and 2 IEM. He didn't qualify for first Super, knocked-out Ro32 in 2 GSL in a row, basically bottom at first SSL, knocked out in group stage for IEM in Korea as well. I gave him the Ro12 in IEM Katowice which is currently his best result this year. I mean Zest was getting better as the year went on in 2015. This year he is getting worse and there is no sign of him getting better (I hope you didn't count beating sOs with DTs as a sign of improvement). So to me, this is his new low. Again, I'm not here to trash-talk Zest. It makes me sad to see he is in such a terrible slump like this. He was very solid just a year ago. I hope he reinvents himself and getting better soon.

What happened to Zest? Direct opposite of what he used to be. In 2014 he was that player who'd constantly look dead and somehow always win. Now no matter how ahead he gets he still always kill himself edit: after looking at his recent games, his physical skill doesn't seem to be slacking, its the fact he never knows how to attack or transition or pick a build. The fact he's losing due to tactical mistakes, and not bad mechanical ability, is a good thing in some sense. It should be easy to improve if he focuses on finding his own mistakes, reviewing replays, asking fellow players for guidance etc. I think he's one of the players that really needs coaching/team support to teach him what to do.
